About this mod

Makes silkbind moves rely on hit-fueled gauges rather than Wirebugs, just like MHGen(U)'s hunter arts!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Commission status and information (Google Docs)
Whilst this mod should be multiplayer safe, avoid using it in online lobbies with random people.
Requires REFramework and REFramework Direct2D.

This mod brings back Hunter Arts from MHGen(U) and has silkbind moves rely on a hit-fueled gauge rather than wirebug recharging.
It's worth noting that this mod removes the Action Bar. If you want to use some of the action bar features, you can rebind them to your shortcuts (or the radial menu for controller).

How does the gauge fill?
Any hit fuels the Hunter Arts Gauge relative to the motion value (and sharpness) of the attack used, until it is completely full. When using a Hunter Art, the gauge empties. There is a short cooldown (5 seconds) on gauge filling after using a Hunter Art.

How do I trigger my Hunter Arts?
If you're on controller, two ways:
  • Using the designated D-pad buttons
  • Using the usual silkbind move button (typically ZL + A/X)
If you're on keyboard, you can only trigger it one way:
  • Using the usual silkbind move button
Can I still use wirebugs?
With your weapon sheathed, you can consume wirebugs for movement based actions, and while unsheathed, you can still use wirefall. However, while unsheathed, you will not be able to consume wirebugs for silkbind moves.

And on the pro side?
Hunter Arts don't consume wirebugs, which means you can trigger two 2-bug skills right after one another with no concern.

Isn't this a bit of a nerf?
To some extent, yeah. It allows for a different playstyle, although depending on how you play, silkbind moves may be more or less available. It's not made to be "WOAH CRAZY BROKEN", it's just meant to be a different way of playing the game.

Can I scale the UI?
You can scale the UI and reposition it. It positions itself based on the bottom right corner of your screen, so keep that in mind. All changes to the UI are saved, but if you ever want to return to the default values, the default is shown on in parentheses next to the setting name.
