Adds a spell to disenchant enchanted items, whether they're player enchanted or from the base game. No more hesitating to enchant those daedric boots you found because your enchant skill isn't high enough for a suitably powerful effect. Requires MWSE.

Overview

Adds a spell to disenchant enchanted items, whether they're player enchanted or from the base game. Disenchanting uses a similar formula to vanilla enchanting with some modifications for better scaling. Difficulty is configurable using the included Mod Config menu. Requires MWSE 2.1 or greater.

Acquiring the spell

Disenchanting is a rare art, not something that can be learned from any old tome. Speak with an enchanter at your local mage guild and ask them for advice to get started. Alternatively, use the console command player->addspell "disenchant" to get the spell immediately.

Using the spell

The Disenchant spell works very similarly to unlock spells. Drop the enchanted item you want to disenchant somewhere in the world (the floor, on a surface, etc) aim your crosshair at it so that the tooltip appears, and then cast the spell. If your Enchant skill is high enough and you have enough magicka, the item will be replaced with its base, unenchanted version. Naturally, items that have no generic version (unique artifacts, for example) cannot be disenchanted.

Compatibility

The .esp requires only Morrowind, but supports items from Tribunal and Bloodmoon as well. Better Clothing and Better Armor are both supported by default, but not required. If there are other mod projects that alter/add clothing, armor, or weapon meshes that you would like support for, please leave a comment and I'll look into it.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues, such as a "Mesh not found" message or especially crashes, please report them. The backbone of this mod is a table that lists every generic unenchanted item in the game and its corresponding mesh, all of which was entered by hand, therefore typos and other errors are possible.
