Unstretched Videos

Note: This mod is actually not needed if you're using MWSE. Make sure to update MWSE, then enable the "letterbox movies" option in the MWSE MCM. If you're on OpenMW, or otherwise not using MWSE, then install this mod for unstretched videos.

Description

This mod adds black bars to the sides of the vanilla game videos, including the Bloodmoon videos, so they won't appear stretched when playing in widescreen (16:9).

The vanilla game videos were intended to be displayed with a standard (4:3) aspect ratio. When playing with a different aspect ratio (e.g. with a widescreen monitor), they'll be stretched to fit the screen. This mod just adds black bars to the sides of the videos so they won't be stretched anymore. The videos are not upscaled otherwise; they're just the vanilla videos with black bars on the sides.

These videos are meant to be displated at 16:9. At other aspect ratios, the videos will still appear stretched, though probably less so than the vanilla ones.

Installation

Use a mod management tool such as Wrye Mash, or just copy the Video directory to your Data Files directory.

Requirements

On the vanilla Morrowind engine, this mod requires the "hi-def cutscene support" feature of Morrowind Code Patch in order for the videos to display correctly. They should work on OpenMW just fine.
