SERVICE REQUIREMENTS REVISED

This mod expands on the vanilla faction service refusal mechanic.

  • Generic service refusal lines from all different factions have been removed. In vanilla Morrowind, lines were repeated across factions, making the responses less unique that they could have been. In addition, they were filtered by race, but no attention was paid to whether the lines actually said something about the races that were refusing service to the player.
  • To compensate for this, new, unique lines for each faction have been added (with a minimum of five per faction).
  • Different factions have different requirements. Some are more common, others much more specific.

For a full list of service requirements per faction, see the following sections. Suggestions are welcomed in the comments.

FIGHTERS GUILD SERVICES

  • Any services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone matching the rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Master Sjoring Hard-Heart) will only offer their services to members within one rank of them (Champion or higher).

MAGES GUILD SERVICES

  • Healers and guild guildes will offer their services to anyone, member or not. For the latter, only their travel services will be unlocked.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone ranked within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Arch-Mage Trebonius Artorius) will only offer their services to members within two ranks of them (Wizard or higher).

THIEVES GUILD SERVICES

  • Any services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone ranked within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Master Thief Gentleman Jim Stacey) will only offer their services to members within two ranks of them (Ringleader or higher).

MORAG TONG SERVICES

  • Any services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone ranked within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Grandmaster Eno Hlaalu) will only offer their services to members within two ranks of them (Master or higher).

IMPERIAL CULT SERVICES

  • Healers will offer their services to anyone, member or not. Members of the lowest three ranks will also offer their services to anyone, member or not.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone ranked within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from (valid for NPCs rank Acolyte and above).
  • The highest ranking NPCs will only offer their services to members wihtin two ranks of them (Invoker or higher). Note that no NPC exceeds the rank of Invoker in vanilla; that said, the mod contemplates the possibility of mods adding NPCs of higher ranks.

TRIBUNAL TEMPLE SERVICES

  • Healers will offer their services to anyone, member or not. Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Patriarchs Tholer Saryoni and Gavas Drin) will only offer their services to members within two ranks of them (Diviner or higher).
  • Being pronounced Nerevarine by Vivec means full access to Temple services, member or not.

IMPERIAL LEGION SERVICES

  • Healers will offer their services to anyone, member or not.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Knight of the Imperial Dragon Varus Vantinius) will only offer their services to members within two ranks of them (Knight Protector or higher).

HOUSE TELVANNI SERVICES

  • Healers will offer their services to anyone, member or not.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone exceeding the rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Archmagister Gothren) will only offer their services to members within one rank of them (Magister or higher).

HOUSE HLAALU SERVICES

  • Members of the lowest three ranks will offer their services to anyone, member or not.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone within one rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Grandmaster Duke Vedam Dren) will only offer their services to anyone within two ranks of them (House Father or higher).

HOUSE REDORAN SERVICES

  • Members of the lowest three ranks will offer their services to anyone, member or not.
  • Any other services require being a member.
  • Once a member, services are available for anyone matching the rank of the member they are trying to get services from.
  • The highest ranking NPCs (in vanilla, Archmaster Bolvyn Venim) will only offer their services to anyone within two ranks of them (House Father or higher).
  • Becoming Redoran Hortator means full access to House Redoran Services, member or not.
