About this mod

A complement to the many poison mods released - this one more focused on stealthily applying poison to your targets, rather than putting poison on your weapon.

Poisoner
is a mod that expands upon the alchemy system of Morrowind. Several mods exist that allow you to apply poison to your weapons, and this mod is compatible with them (and I'd recommend you use them alongside this). However, this mod aims to act as a more stealthy alternative than thwacking your victims with a poisoned sword or shooting them with a poisoned arrow - instead requiring you to get up close and personal, avoid being seen, and reap greater rewards for taking greater risks.

Features

This mods adds Injectors, single-use (for now - at this early stage of the mod, balancing feedback would be appreciated) items that allow you to inject NPCs and creatures that can't detect you with any potion in your inventory. After this, the injector will be discarded, and the potion effect applied instantly. This has several uses - you can use your sneaking skills inject an assassination target in a public place with a Frenzy poison to get them to attack you, and kill them legally, you could do the same with pure damage health - if you have powerful enough potions and enough injectors to kill someone that way. The mod also detects whether or not a potion has negative or positive effects - if a potion only has positive effects, you can inject it into NPCs and creatures that can see you, allowing you to cure NPCs with diseases with custom-brewed Cure Disease potions for Temple questlines, or quickly heal/buff your companions with custom-brewed potions. You can inject draining or damaging potions into particularly difficult boss before you start a fight, or brew a long-lasting Burden potion to keep an enemy pinned down before you run away and pepper them with arrows while they can't fight back. You can even sneak behind Vivec and inject him with Mazte because you are a deranged lunatic who is trying to kill slowly kill gods with alcohol poisoning.

To use the injector, simply have it in your inventory and press y while looking at someone. Make sure you aren't detected by anyone. Injectors are sold by Lassour Zenammu at the Ald'Ruhn Morag Tong hall, Gilyan Sedas in the Balmora hall, Dunsalipal Dun-Ahhe in the Sadrith Mora hall, and Rogdul gro Bularz in the Vivec hall. Morag Tong membership is not required to buy from these merchants, although you cannot buy from them if you've been expelled.

The mod should be compatible with every potion in the game, be it custom brewed or in the game normally, and it should likewise work with every single NPC and creature in the game. I have no idea if this is balanced or not - but then again, Bethesda clearly had no idea or simply didn't care if Morrowind itself was balanced or not, so I don't feel too bad about this. Feel free to leave feedback and I might rejigger some values around. I may also add an MCM menu to let the user change things like whether or not being detected lets you inject or not, or whether injectors can be used infinitely.

I would highly recommend using this mod alongside Poison Crafting by Greatness7, which alongside its main feature of poisoning your weapons, complementing this mod's more stealthy approach with an option for melee/archer characters, lets you craft poisons more effectively for use with injectors, adds poisons to the levelled list for use with injectors, and is just generally an excellent mod.

The mod should be compatible with Stealth Improved, but make sure to turn on the sneak icon in the UI within Stealth Improved's MCM. The way that the mod detects if you're visible is whether or not the icon is present, so if you have that ui element permanently disabled, you will never be able to inject any poisons.
