About this mod

Mod that combines Tetsojin with CA Blood and Smoke (BloodSmoke). Adds arquebus gunner tree for Tetsojin faction and also nerfs BloodSmoke AOE units.

This mod modifies files (XML edits) for both Tetsojin and CA Blood and Smoke (BloodSmoke)
Now enjoy a weird mix of warfare.

This all started because I wanted to see if Tetsojin worked on latest version (Tetsojin version for 1.2.0 works!) and it did!
Then I found out that BloodSmoke also exists - when I turned on both mods, it also worked!
And so began the process of buffing the Tetsojin faction due to BloodSmoke's armour values being higher (I wonder if this is because BloodSmoke is perhaps preparing to go with RBM soon-ish). Also the ammo seemed to work better.

What I changed-added:

For Tetsojin:
Added gunner tree by basically copying the archer and horse archer tree. 
Tetsojin gunners weapons are using Tetsojin gun models, BloodSmoke ammo and reloading animations.
Multiplied all armour values by 2 (I did not read the RBM documentation and just winged it, it does however seem to fit, more or less)
All recruits have guns, akin to BloodSmoke recruits.
Added one new weapon "Royal Long Katana" - I am not sure if you can get it from anywhere but using cheats.

I also CA-ified all the weapons and armour by giving them [Tetsojin] infront of it.

Tetsojin faction currently does not have it's own pikemen unit. As I am writing this, I am thinking of slapping a unit together that uses yari's. Perhaps they could use the funky BloodSmoke pike animation/posture

For BloodSmoke:
I nerfed AOE Cannon troops by replacing their ammo with the hopefully smaller AOE Explosive Flintlock ammo. I think that makes them deal less damage

What hasn't changed:
From BloodSmoke, Khuzait are still borked. Their recruitment tree encyclopedia is disabled, they have normal armour values and no firearm units.
Tetsojin armies do not start with gunner units, they do however appear in parties over the course of the game. I have not looked into party templates yet. Tetsojin does not have grenadiers or cannon units.

Load order:
Follow Tetsojin and BloodSmoke mod instructions.
You definetly should place THIS mod under Tetsojin and BloodSmoke

My load order currently is:
Tetsojin
CA - Blood and Smoke
Tetsojin with Blood and Smoke



Future:
Don't be hopeful. I only made this because I MYSELF wanted to have Japanese gunners get into gunfights with Calradian troops with guns. I did learn quite a bit about XML/XSLT modding for Bannerlord.
However I had funky ideas like:
  • Smashing together a Japan looking map and dumping Tetsojin faction into it, call it a day, rivalry with Shokuho.
  • Making Tetsojin work with CA_Eagle Rising. Considering that ATM it is a wild mix of 3rd century BC Carthage, 1st century BC Gaul and 1st century Roman Empire, adding 16th century Japanese inspired faction would not be THAT far fetched.
  • Tetsojin RBM?
  • I do think the Ronin tree could be more "interesting". Maybe just add Ronin Gunner next to archers?
  • Giving Tetsojin mercenary units (Umbra Council for example) guns would be interesting.
  • Could add more units. The Warrior-Monk recruitment feature from Shokuho did seem intriguing. 
  • Khuzait haven't gotten much love from BloodSmoke, but I hope next update they will. I'll hold off from touching them myself for now. But Mongols with Guns? Intriguing!

Anyways, BloodSmoke will eventually get more updates. Tetsojin aswell, probably, once the maker of that mod returns to making it.
