Want to distribute your own skill points and pick your own perks, whilst still getting a convenient quick start menu so you can quickly start the frontier. Then consider my alternative quick start menu. It quickly gets you up to speed without needing to mess with console commands.

Changelogs
Version 1.6.1
Changed how the pipboy gets closed after using the QuickStartItem to prevent the game from freezing whilst the pipboy gets closed. Note the pipboy might fail to close automatically based on your keybindings now. If that happens manually closing the pipboy should fix things
Updated the message stating the pipboy will automatically close. To note that it might fail to do so and what the player should do in that case.
Version 1.6
Hopefully fixed an issue where some people weren't receiving the quick start item at all, by having the quest that awards the item check for both game restarts and loading of saves. And also using a local quest variable instead of a global. Note the quest still self terminates after awarding the item to avoid performance issues.
Note this fix will not retroactively apply to saves that already had this mod installed on them. Due to changing a quest script, on a quest that gets automatically stopped after the script has run once(regardless of the outcome)
Version 1.5
Renamed the mod to: "An Alternative QuickStart for The Frontier" As I no longer felt comfortable with having my name as boldly displayed to something connected to The Frontier
Removed/Renamed almost all references to my name from the mod itself
Removed the wild wasteland options added in update 1.4. As I felt that they were no longer appropriate in light of recent events
Fully removed the remnants of an old debug option(wasn't accessible in game anymore even prior to this) as part of the general clean up that came with this update.
Removed all versions of this mod prior to version 1.5
Version 1.4
Automated the closing of the Pip-Boy menu and added a small delay so that the PipBoy can be fully lowered before the QuickStarter proceeds. Which should make the screen less cluttered
Sanity checked all textboxes for spelling errors and corrected them when needed. Grammar mistakes and weird language use were also looked at, but might persist in some places since I am not a native English speaker and a terrible writer in any language
Turned the QuickStarter item into a quest item so you can't manually remove it anymore. Also gave it a placeholder icon and placeholder in game model, so it should appear a bit less glitchy
Reverted to my now fully play tested and fixed solution for setting things up for The Frontier's Legion MQ that only adds Legion Reputation. This was done because the one build into The Frontier's own QuickStart Auto completed several quests in the base game. This had the negative effect of rendering them unavailable through normal play and more importantly broke the base game's Legion MQ. By contrast my fix only seems to cost you a few lines during your initial recruitment into The Frontier's Legion about the Courier's supposed achievements
Added a neat little optional extra for wild wasteland users. Look at your saved games before coming here to complain if something happens
Version 1.3
The Frontier's Legion MQ is now fully supported. Selecting yes on enabling support for it now does the exactly the same thing as it would if you were using The Frontier's build in Quickstart.
Version 1.2
BugFix: XP for the chosen level is now properly awarded. Note will only affect new installs, If you previously ran the quickstarter please see my pinned comment for an alternative fix.
(Experimental) Added support for The Frontier's Legion MQ. Note due to the experimental status of this feature I will not offer support if it breaks the legion MQ at some point down the line. At least until I had the time to finish a full Legion MQ play through myself with this option enabled.
Version 1.1
Bugfix: The new vegas clinic now properly acknowledges implants acquired through this mod. Note this will only apply if you have yet to run the quickstart
Bugfix: You can no longer boost your special stats to higher than 10 using implants acquired through this mod.
Version 1.0
Initial release
Why I made this mod:
So I wanted to start The Frontier with a new character like many of you and decided to try out it's Quickstart option to well quickly get going. Only to find out much to my dismay that I wouldn't be able to choose my own perks instead being stuck with one of the offered presets. Also the way it calculates the amount of skill points awarded to the player was unacceptable to my stat-whore self. Since it doesn't factor in the ability to raise your Intelligence through perks(and implants) or the existence of the Educated perk(+2 skill points per level starting after lvl 4 or whenever it is picked up). So I decided that this will not do.
Now the easy solution would have been just a few console commands, whilst ignoring the built in quickstart option. But that would have been fiddly and besides I was bored, stuck at home due to Covid and could use the practice in making mods. So I decided why not make my own quickstart mod for The Frontier and so this mod came into existence.
How this mod works
Once you make a new character you will receive a weightless piece of armor called "The Quick Start Item" in your inventory. Simply go through the character creation as normal until you receive the Pip-Boy. Then go into your inventory and equip "The Quick Start Item". Simply Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be guided through the entire process.
It should be noted that this mod doesn't touch a single thing from The Frontier and technically doesn't need it, which means the built in Quickstart is still there and active. To avoid issues please don't use it in combination with this mod, simply skip it instead.
Installation & load order:
Just install with your preferred mod manager as normal. Since this mod changes no vanilla or other mods you can probably put it wherever in your load order, but for safety I recommend you put it after TFHotfix.esp
