Overview
This is my personal preset for Stewie Tweaks, a NVSE plugin which provides a variety of engine, gameplay and quality-of-life improvements.
This preset emphasizes on various improvements and bug fixes while still keeping content and gameplay relatively vanilla-friendly.
Notable list of tweaks
  • Agility now affects player speed. The more agility you have, the faster you'll move.
  • The second weapon hotkey which was present in Fallout 3 is now restored. In addition, double-tapping the reload key now swaps ammo types.
  • Vendors obey their item flags so they'll only accept certain type of items you can sell to them.
  • Stacked items now shows proper values and weight and the amount of weight is now shown in red if the item would overencumber.
  • Grabbing owned items (As in moving the item and not adding it into your inventory) now counts as stealing, just like in Oblivion.
  • NPCs and locations shown on compass fade depending on distance. The farther the marker, the more transparent it'll be.
  • Location markers on compass are only shown if the marker is on the map.
  • HP/AP bars are shown in red if either is low.
  • Experience points shown in the Pip-Boy is now in percentages instead of incremental numbers.
  • You can now pull out your Pip-Boy if the screen shakes during an explosion or from similar causes. It might cause the Pip-Boy to be off-centered, though.
  • Aiming down sights and scopes now smoothly transitions.
  • Invisible enemies such as nightkins are only visible in the HUD and V.A.T.S-targetable if ED-E is following you.
  • Throwable weapons aside from grenades can now be held and released to throw.
  • Some aspects for followers are improved: robotic companions are now healed with scrap metal, they can't be targeted in V.A.T.S. and carried weapons can't be disarmed from them.
  • Melee weapons don't reduce condition if hitting a dead body.
  • Terminal hacking and pickpocketing are improved:
  •      Pickpocketing takes account into weight, NPC perception and how they'll detect you.
  •      Single letters and already guessed words don't take away an attempt when hacking, attempts only reset if the amount isn't full.
  • Corresponding skill books have no effect if a skill is at 100 points.
  • The game will now skip to the perk selection menu (when possible) if all skills have reached 100 points when levelling up.
  • The amount of bets are kept when finishing a game of Roulette.
  • Living Anatomy now shows the amount of damage resistance an NPC has.
  • Poison effects applied on weapons are shown on the Pip-Boy.
  • A quest now only shows as failed if the quest is in progress.
  • The number of skill points required in dialogue are removed. This effectively makes skill checks more unpredictable.
  • Crafted items' condition now scales with the player's repair skill. More repair = better condition.
  • Radio stations' music becomes less audible the farther you're away from the broadcast range, just like in Fallout 3.
  • The deadzone for controllers has been removed and aiming has been improved for controllers.
  • The game now allows using mouse and keyboard if controller is enabled.
  • If you run out of ammo using an alternative ammo type, the game will now swap to another ammo type, if you have any.
  • Enemy weaponry now emits impact effects and makes noises upon getting hit.
  • The repuatation section on the Pip-Boy general stats tab no longer shows up if you don't have a reputation for a faction.
  • Mines now alert nearby NPCs if detonated.
  • Weapons that uses multiple ammo like the tri-beam laser rifle now shows how much ammo they use on the Pip-Boy.
  • Jumping no longer drops an item if an item is grabbed.
  • Weapon damage and armor DT/DR higher or lower than the equipped weapon and armor are now shown as + and - respectively.
  • Temporary skill boosts and penalties are now shown as (+) and (-) respectively on the Pip-Boy, along with the amount.
  • Bloody Mess now has a chance to gib the entire body with explosives.
  • The character can now be rotated in the character modification screen.
  • When looking at the map, zooming will now zoom where the cursor is instead of the center.
  • You can now turn 180 and 360 degrees when looking while sitting in a chair in third-person.
  • The Light Step perk now affects companions.
  • The AP bars in V.A.T.S. now properly show the AP cost when reloading.
  • Audio holotapes can now be paused by clicking on the same holotape. Clicking on the holotape twice stops the holotape.
  • Fast-travelling in short distances no longer changes weather.
  • Right mouse button, Tab or LT on the controller can be used to exit out of the V.A.T.S. killcam, in case something happens that makes the game stuck on the killcam.
  • Autosaves now uses multiple slots. The number of autosaves are 3.
  • Automatic weapons will now properly jam during firing for mods that restore weapon jamming when firing a weapon.
  • Weapons which use more than 1 ammo has a chance to drop multiple casings, hulls and drained cells.
  • Barter now affects repair costs. More points = less price.
  • NPCs now drops live grenades if they're killed moments before throwing a grenade.
  • Choosing an incorrect word in the hacking minigame now renders the incorrect word as a dud.
  • Increased the third-person rotation speed when holding the button to switch between views while using a controller.
