About this mod
Have you ever shot someone with a 9mm or laser pistol only to have their head roll off their torso? This mod aims to correct that and make the game feel more satisfying without making it feel too terribly unrealistic.

This mod makes a few changes to the weapons of New Vegas.
I took inspiration from Guns Don't Dismember.
Pick one or the other, do not pick both.
Main Version changes:
- 5mm, 5.56, .357, 12.7mm, 10mm, and 9mm no longer dismember/explode limbs
- Laser and Plasma weapons all explode limbs, still disintegrating/melting bodies afterwards
- The only kinetic-based weapons (bullets) that explode limbs are shotguns, .44 magnum weapons, and rifles like the Hunting Rifle/Sniper Rifle (.308) and Anti-Material rifle.
Lenient Version changes (Updated):
- 9mm pistols/smgs should no longer dismember/explode limbs
- Laser weapons will dismember, Plasma weapons explode limbs, Recharger weapons dismember.
- Weapons like the 10mm, 5.56, .357, .44, 12.7, and 5mm, will explode limbs (5mm for the sake of the miniguns, it's cool).
Disclaimer:
I'm no expert on firearms, but seeing a man's head detach and fly into the air when I dome him with a Marksman Rifle is a bit unrealistic. The goal of this mod, as stated earlier, is to make the game feel more satisfying without going overboard, unless you want it to.
I'm no expert with modding either, and since this mod was really simple to make, feel free to modify it to suit your needs in xEdit.
If you really want to, you can always modify it yourself in xEdit. All you need to do is load my plugin, fallout.esm and all the dlc .esm's , open the .esm your weapon is in (If it's dlc, open the .esm for the dlc your weapon is in, if vanilla, open fallout.esm), scroll down to weapons and open that, then scroll down to any weapon you want to modify and change the "On Hit" value of my mod to either "No dismember/explode", "Explode", "Dismember", or "Normal Formula Behavior" (Normal Formula Behavior, I assume, is the chance for both dismember/explode because it's set by default on a lot of guns that can do both in vanilla).
Incompatibilities:
I would keep an eye out for mods that modify the values of the vanilla/dlc weapons. The worst case scenario is that either my mod is overwritten or the mod making the changes is overwritten. In the event that this happens, please let me know what mod is incompatible and I'll probably look into making a patch.
Installation:
Currently, you must have all the DLC. You will also need Yukichigai Unofficial Patch - YUP
Either install with Vortex or manually install by dropping the .esp in your data folder. You should be able to use FOMM as well, though I haven't tested this.
