I am an absolute slut for highly detailed, attachment-rich weapon mods, and because of that x01x010's M1A has been a staple of my load order as my fantasy SHTF weapon for a very long time (regardless of the actual capabilities of the M1A in the real world).

Unfortunately, it was made with Asurah's (godspeed wherever you are) weapon animations in mind and as a result can be quite jarring to use in the golden-era that began with the release of kNVSE.

Fortunately, Hitman has continued to pave the way in terms of weapon animations for the FNV community, including a set for AM's M14 released a few months ago. I figured I'd try my hand at patching the weapons for my own use first, and then with their blessing I figured I'd share them with the rest of the community for both their use as well as bug testing.

After a few hours screwing around in NifSkope and FNVEdit, I had a bunch of nifs, a new JSON, and a new esp file that should allow Hitman's anims to work properly on every variant included in the mod, with proper sounds, full and partial reloads, ammo, and condition checking.


(I know the Specter variant's bolt doesn't move in the video, this should be fixed in the release.)

REQUIREMENTS

The original Springfield Armory M1A mod, of course, for the required assets and the base this patch is built off of, as well as it's listed requirements, with one exception. This mod WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT IT.

kNVSE Animation Plugin for all of the animation goodness we've been blessed with.

Not a hard requirement, but Hit - Millenia Animations - Part 2 graciously provided the animations and JSON file I modified to make this work.

INSTALLATION

Either install with your favorite mod manager (I highly recommend MO2) and allow this mod to overwrite the original M1A mod, or manually install like any other mod, by extracting the contents of the download into your FNV Data folder.

COMPATIBILITY

Considering this mod is powered by kNVSE, there shouldn't be any serious incompatibilities as long as you don't have another animation set attempting to cover the same weapons. That being said, while the original mod was built for Asurah's animations, I no longer use those as their long absence as well as kNVSE has unfortunately rendered them deprecated. That doesn't mean you can't use Asurah's anims if you're still doing so, however I cannot guarantee things will work or look correct, and will not be able to provide support for any who do.
