A NOTE TO THE CONSTANT STRING OF PEOPLE ASKING IF YOU CAN BECOME A WEREWOLF IN THIS MOD
I have answered this question several times and I will answer it here for the final time. The answer is NO. This mod is not about that. It never has been and it never will be. If that is all you want, look elsewhere - this mod is not for you.
NOTE: NEW TRAILER FOR THIS MOD UNDER THE 'VIDEOS' TAB ABOVE.

Version 2 of 'Werewolf - Legends of the North' makes several improvements and tweaks over version 1. The most notable of these changes is the addition of a very cinematic musical score. This score adds incidental themes at various times throughout the playing of the quest from the moment the quest is activated, through battles, exploration, dungeons and at key plot moments, all the way upto quest completion. I personally believe that it improves the atmosphere and mood of the story by a huge amount.
The second most significant change is the addition of voice-over work associated with the diary and journal of Galius Norvallo (players of the original version will know who that is).
There have also been several gameplay tweaks, including some adjustments to AI stats and difficulty levels and there has been various script changes to improve the atmosphere and stability of the mod.

*** TWO IMPORTANT NOTES ***
==========================
1. Before installing this mod, you MUST UNINSTALL any previous version of 'Werewolf - Legends of the North', or any versions of my other Werewolf mods ('Lycanthrope' or 'Lycanthrope 2').
2. You must backup the game's default 'Music' folder because this mod uses its own. Go to the game's 'Data' directory and either rename the 'Music' folder to something else (ie, 'Music Backup') OR move it to another location for safekeeping.
==========================
INSTALLATION (Manual Version)
==========================
A NOTE ON MANUALY INSTALLING MODS:
It is generally good practice to examine the folder and file structure of any mod's data files BEFORE you copy files over to the game's 'Data' directory. This can help avoid any unwanted overwrites when installing a mod.
Extract the downloaded archive (Werewolfv2) with 7-Zip or WinRar, copy the 'Data' folder into the game's main directory, allowing Windows to overwrite folders where necessary (all of this mod's data files are within a unique folder structure, so there won't be any unwanted overwrites). Activate the plugin via the game launcher and you're done!
=========================
INSTALLATION (OMod Version)
=========================
Extract the downloaded archive (Werewolfv2-OMod) with 7-Zip or WinRar, place 'Werewolf - Legends of the North.omod' into the Mod Manager's 'mods' directory (Oblivion/obmm/mods), then activate it via the Mod Manager and you're done!
**************
IMPORTANT
**************
Since uploading this mod, I have discovered that in order for the new music score to work correctly, the plugin needs to load LAST when starting the game. This is due to some alterations I had to make in the type of music that plays in certain Worldspaces.
I would advise that players make use of the excellent 'Oblivion Mod Manager' to ensure that 'Werewolf-Legends.esp' is the last plugin to load. It is an excellent and user-friendly application for managing Oblivion mods anyway and would highly recommend it. It can be downloaded here:

Please note that Microsoft.NET 2.0 is required for the Mod Manager to work.

MOD DESCRIPTION
================
'Werewolf - Legends of the North' is a story and character driven quest to seek out ancient Ayleid treasures and powerful items in the high northern regions of Cyrodiil. It introduces an entirely new and extremely aggressive species, the Lycanthrope, to the game and features all new, fully-voiced characters as part of the main storyline.
THE LYCANTHROPE SPECIES:
The 'Lycanthropes' are a race of werewolves that have infested the entire northern wilderness areas of Cyrodiil. Their natural habitat runs east to west across the entire northern hemisphere and high up into the frozen peaks of the Jerall mountains.
This of course means that un-mounted or unaccompanied travel in these regions for a low-level character becomes effective suicide, as the creatures (which often hunt in packs) will persist in the assault and absolutely will not stop until the victim is slain. They are tough, fast and strong - and this is by design. I deliberately made this mod to be difficult and realistic (as far as that is possible with mythological creatures like werewolves, of course). The way to go is to try and avoid these creatures where possible, but if you really must enter into combat with them, be sure that your character is up to it!!
The Lycanthrope will not usually venture further south than the northernmost regions of Cyrodiil but as with everything in life, there are always rare exceptions and an odd rogue or two may possibly be sighted from time to time in more southern areas.
There are approximately 100 individual creatures scattered throughout the northern region, and these will re-spawn after 3 in-game days.
In addition to many lone wandering specimens, the creatures can sometimes be found in 'clans' where they have laid claim to an area and set up a family. Needless to say, these clans should be avoided at all costs by any sane traveller (insane gamers are another matter though!!).
THE LEGENDS:
For many years, the people of Tamriel have spoken of ancient legends concerning an exiled Ayleid ruler and his lost riches, yet few have known more than the occasional whispered tale or muttered rumour. Somewhere in Cyrodiil lies the truth and it is up to the player to discover it.
==================
NOTE ON DIFFICULTY
==================
Unless you intend to play on Oblivion's 'easiest' setting, characters below aprox level 15 will have virtually no chance of completing this quest. None of the enemy AI you will encounter is 'levelled', meaning that whether you are a low or high level character, all your fights will be fixed at the same level of difficulty.
However, for the full experience of this mod, it is recommended that you play at a *HIGH* difficulty setting. Just make sure that you have a powerful arsenal and your restoration magic or potions are at hand. Please note also that some destruction magic will be required to complete one part of this quest.
Also note that there are no quest target markers added to the map. The mod includes all the clues and/or NPC dialogue necessary for you to complete the quest, without the addition of what is (in my opinion) the totally immersion-destroying quest markers.
============
INSTALLATION
============
Extract the downloaded archive using WinRar, then place the 'meshes', 'sound' and 'Textures' folders and the 'Werewolf-Legends.esp' file in the game's 'Data' directory. Activate the plug-in via the game launcher and you're done.
===================
STARTING THE QUEST
===================
Simply load up a savegame with the plugin activated and you will be automatically given the quest to start you on your way. You can also start a new game of course, but starting level characters WILL get their asses kicked to Oblivion and back on this quest.
Note that your character needs to be outside in the Cyrodiil countryside, AND NOT within the walls of a town or city for the quest to activate, so if the savegame you load was made inside a town or within an interior cell, the new quest will be added when you venture out into the wilderness.

INCOMPATABILITIES OR KNOWN ISSUES
=================================
This mod is incompatable with the 'Better Cities' mod. A compatibility patch for 'Better Cities' has been created and is available for download here:
