this mod replaces the two main standard snow textures. it uses 2k detailed snow while avoiding the ugly tiling pattern effect. it is optimised for standard terrain settings and tested with oblivion reloaded 7.1 terrain shaders enabled.

this mod simply replaces the two main standard oblivion snow textures.
it combines 2k detailed snow with lowest possible checkerboard / tiling pattern effect while maintaining fine details. it is optimised for standard terrain settings and tested with oblivion reloaded 7.1 terrain shaders enabled.this is the terrain setting i would recommend currently.
the checkerboard effect and low res artifacts of tested snow mods bugged me so i decided to create my own one and tried to minimize this effect while having fine detailed snow (as far as with 2k possible).
i also tried to find the best possible setting for the alpha channel to have a smooth transition (including snow reflection effect) to the terrain lod textures.
it is a 2k texture replacer for standard snow textures (watch file preview), high res mipmaps included. it is not upscaled and/or blocky like some snow mods i've tested. texture and normal map are bc1/bc5 2k compressed dds and saved from my 2k source! any artifact you find is bc1 or bc5 compression related.
if you like the posted images and use the mentioned terrain settings you will probably like this mod!
important: don't let any other mod overwrite any of the included textures!
