A lightweight mod that fixes goblin tribes not correctly going for their sacred totem. Now they will go looking for it pretty much anywhere. Share your craziest battles in the image section!

All this mod does is alter the script of the totem itself and the tribal chief AI packages.


For those who don't know:

Goblin tribes have a sacred totem that they will seek out and recover if it is stolen from them. The totem itself is just a staff with a lightning spell on it (not the staves carried by shamans). You should be able to find it on the floor somewhere in their home.

In vanilla, it would only work in some niche scenarios that are setup from the beginning, including a related quest where you learn about this behavior. However, any usage outside of that were either super buggy or completely not working.

With this mod, that changes. Put the totems anywhere in the world and the goblins will attempt to recover it. Presumably thanks to their shaman's wisdom and mysticism skill at finding the totem. 

Killing a tribe's shaman (except 1 tribe) still completely kills off the tribe and their attempts to recover the totem (this is expected vanilla behavior).

Be careful, though. This mod really works. Make sure you're okay with goblins going on raids where you put the staff. They might fight stuff on the way as well, but not often. Probably doesn't work if you drop the totems in shivering isles, they haven't shown up yet.


Known issues:
-Waiting in the same cell as the totem for long periods of time can allow the goblins to steal it without fighting.
-When in low processing they get to the staff and completely skip battles on the way to it. Basically same issue as above but happens even if you are far away. They won't pick it up, though.

I would like to fix the two issues above but that's just vanilla behavior and I want this mod to be a bugfix not a new feature. If you know of an easy solution to the above I am happy to make the adjustment.
