Changelogs
A witcher arrived in Cyrodiil. Who is it? It's up to you! Any playable race can be made into a witcher - a person with special skills and abilities. All it takes is putting on your witcher medallion.

Witchers for Oblivion is not a new concept, but I felt that existing mods made the witcher completely overpowered, forcing him into aparticular type of fighter, which just happened to be different to what I wanted to play. In my version I tried to reproduce the flexibility in the witcher's fighting style development and armour preferences that we see in The Witcher 3. I used existing models from the Classic Witcher mod that imported original assets (thank you CD Projekt Red for allowing us to use them) which were based on The Witcher 1. I then made some modifications.

The main module
This is the main module containing all witcher functionality. It does not require a new start - you can make your character into a witcher at any point. Of course, if you wanted to play as Geralt of Rivia, you do need a new start because this is a custom race. All other races however can undergo mutations to become witchers, including races added by mods.

Witcher medallion
You will receive a witcher medallion. Put it on, and you get a choice to become a witcher or not. If you refuse, you will find witcher gear in shops, but you will not be able to learn any signs.

Note that if you are starting a new game, the medallion will be given to you after the end of the tutorial, that is when you exit the sewers in vanilla. When used with an alternative start mod, this will be typically once that mod is finished creating your character.

There are two versions of the witcher medallion: one for the tail slot used on races that don't have a tail, and the other on the amulet slot used with races that do have a tail. Khajiit and Argonian witchers rejoice! No longer will you loose your tail to the medallion.

Witcher race
Any race can be made into a witcher, but to have Geralt's face, hair and scarred body you have to start a new game and select Geralt's Rivian race. There are no edits to other races, avoiding compatibility issues with other mods.

Witcher class
I made a new Witcher class that I felt had the most suitable properties for the "canonical" witcher. However, you can choose any other class or make your own, it's up to you.

Swords
I modified the swords from crossed to parallel, as they are in The Witcher 2 and 3. They are graded similar to all other swords in vanilla Oblivion, so you have a progression from a beginner's to a master weapon. All new swords are silver, since there are already enough steel swords in the game. The steel sword in the pair indicates the
grade of the silver sword.

Armour
The armour models are all regraded so as to create progressively stronger sets both in light and heavy armour. There are also witcher robes for those witchers who wish to specialise in magic.

Standard and special gear
Swords and armour can be either standard or special. Standard gear includes light armour boots, gloves and trousers, light or heavy armour cuirass and a silver sword. These items can be upgraded by a smith, so as to always remain relevant. However, this gear is not enchanted - placing enchantments on standard items makes them non-standard and not upgradable. You can buy new standard items though, and keep upgrading. Upgrading replaces your current item with one of a higher grade.

Special gear is also available to buy from the smiths. It is not upgradable but has other interesting properties. It includes swords, light and heavy armour including hoods, as well as enchanted witcher robes. Robes are sold by general traders rather than smiths.

Signs
Signs - the witcher magic spells - are all freshly made. I tried to emulate the effects from The Witcher games as closely as possible without forcing Oblivion into doing something that it wasn't designed to do. This is all done with scripts and existing magic effects, and is therefore not conflicting with other magic mods. Each sign comes in five strengths according to the Oblivion magic mastery levels from Novice to Master.

You can learn signs from certain enchanters not affiliated with the Mages Guild, or you can buy sign tomes from booksellers throughout Tamriel.

Meditation pad
The meditation pad allows the witcher to meditate and recover health, magicka and stamina. Equip it from the inventory menu, it will drop the pad by your feet, sit down to meditate. When you're done, get up, crouch (sneak) to pick it up and return it to your inventory.

Horse
Roach is here too, with her distinctive look and personality.

Geralt of Rivia is a companion
Geralt is one of Lena's Companions and can join you on your travels - please download his companion file there. He has his own auto-leveling gear and signs. You will be able to buy witcher gear in shops, but unless you are playing as a witcher yourself, you will not be able to learn witcher signs.

Geralt is residing in Bruma - it appears that his services are needed in the area to deal with all the ogres and goblins running amok. He is staying at Olav's Tap and Tack. By default, he silently appears in game, but if you wish to have a quest in your journal as soon as the mod is loaded, edit CompanionGeralt.ini file and set QuietStart to 0.

Acknowledgements
This mod uses resources from the Classic Witcher with various modifications. All grading and scripting is new. Horse models are from ROACH horse resource pack from The Witcher 3.  Roach's attributes and abilities are all new. All models are created by CD Projekt Red - creators of The Witcher game series - with permission to be used in other games.

Meditation animation comes from Morroblivion with permission from DaggerfallTeam. Thank you!
