Houses in the Shivering Isles are offered for sale when the owners die. Watch for those "For Sale" signs. If you don't buy the house within 30 days of reading the notice, someone else buys it and moves in.

Houses are cleaned up before sale! Some much, some a little - it depends. All containers are safe, except food containers. Food and drink cupboards are labeled as such, food barrels are not always labeled as such. But remember: if you find food or drink in it, it's on the contract with the local inn and will be periodically restocked!

This version covers most settlements (Fellmoor, Deepwallow, Highcross and Hale) and "regular" houses in New Sheoth (both Crucible and Bliss) - that is, no shops or inns (except Things Found). I'm not sure what to do with those. For the moment, avoid killing the shopkeepers. I decided not to do Split and Passwall because they are special.

The "For Sale" signs appear as soon as the previous house owner dies for any reason. Your 30 days period starts from the moment you read the sign. It checks the number of days passed - an entry on your stats page in the journal. So if you artificially advance the calendar, it will have no effect on the sign. The new owner will mostly follow the same daily routine as the previous one (including fights on the rooftop), however they will not replicate unique actions of the previous owner. For example, the new owner of Thaedil's house is not a juggler.

This mod requires OBSE to function fully, however it will mostly work also without OBSE (not recommended).

Load order
For best results load this mod after the other mods that modify Shivering Isles towns.

Conflict
There is a small conflict with SI Cities Expanded - two rocks and a vinyard bucket block the door to a new house added by my mod. This is in Bliss, to the side of the Common Treasures. I have built in a patch that checks whether you have the SI Cities Expanded mod loaded, and if you do, it disables the offending rocks and the bucket.

If you are using the original mod without modifications, you can remove the configuration file "SI Property Ladder.ini" that comes with this mod - the correct defaults are already built in. However, if you are using a custom merge or your own version of the mod, you can enter the correct mod name and form IDs in the INI file to get the right rocks disabled.

If you are not using SI Cities Expanded, you don't need the INI file.

This configuration functionality requires OBSE! You won't get the rocks disabled without it.
