About this mod
: Volumes down to 30% ~ 50% several ambient sounds that are considered too loud and fix others considered too low specially if you play Skyrim with Headphones and the audio set on stereo. All done to allow other environment sounds to be heard too. Nothing immersion break, no file replacer, just a plugin and fully mergeable with Wrye Bash.

Skyrim was designed to play on systems with 5.1 Audio and the game goes on odd moments if people play it with Stereo sound more if you do it with Headphones. Skyrim's ambience in particular is the most affected. If taking these matters to a In Real Life scale, some even are immersion break.
This plugin will turn down these noises to 30% ~ 50% to make sure they can still be heard but not being that much intrusive or irritating to certain ears. There are no audio files, replacers or anything else. The tweak is done by a simple .esp plugin and the best part is that it can be merged with Wrye Bash freeing you from a plugin slot. If you have merged with a Wrye Bash you can even uninstall latter, in case you didn't liked the tweaks.
This is a summarised list of what the plugin modifies:
- General Winds and Background sounds from caves and nordic dungeons;
- Some dwemer machinery like the spinning cogs;
- Background crack noises from caves, icebergs and icy caves;
- Wind and gurgling water sounds from Apocrypha;
- Sounds of Crickets and Cicada in general (Groups and single);
- Sounds of frogs, specially around the marsh and Morthal;
- Blackreach's Ambience sound (the famous wind chimes);
- Winds in general from Skyrim and Summerset Isle;
- Interior of Ships;
- Snow Storms (weak and strong ones) in general;
- Fix of Miraak's Sword audio volume on impact, draw and sheathe;
- Fix of Wooden Swords' audio issues on Draw, Sheathe and Swing;
- No, I'll NOT make a SE\AE Editions.
- No I'll NOT patch this MOD for other MODs, my focus here is the Vanilla game and nothing else.
- Wrye Bash is optional, you don't need it but I recommend.
- If there's other MODs that does the same thing this MOD do? Yes there is, but, this one in particular does not include audio files and is just an .esp plugin. Opinions differ about the game no wonder MODs exist.
- This MOD will work independent of your audio setting if it is 5.1, 7.1 or another thing but keep in mind that this MOD was intended for people that can only play the game on stereo and don't have 5.1\7.1 audio features.
- The MOD was entirely tested using an AKG K414P which are good professional Headphones even for audio development.
- This MOD compatibility will depend based on other audio related MODs. If you have any I suggest you to place this MOD in the bottom of your Load Order to ensure its records and edits take high priority.
