Replaces the armour of your housecarls with the ones used by the guards of their respective holds, as modified by Guards Armor Replacer.

Anyone interested in porting this add-on to SSE is welcome to do so; I've uploaded a version without USLEEP requirements to make the process (hopefully) simpler. I also invite anyone to upload a succesful port to nexusmods, just make sure to credit DanielUA for his work on the base mod. 


Description


This is a small add-on for Guards Armor Replacer by NordwarUA (uploaded by DanielUA).

It replaces your housecarls' armours with the new guard armours, befitting their station as soldiers of their hold. They will all wear the heavy variant of their respective hold's guard armour, along with their hold's shield. The only two exceptions are Rayya (Falkreath), who dual-wields scimitars, and Valdimar (Morthal), who doesn't use a shield since he's a sorcerer. 

With one or two exceptions, the new armours have lower stats than the housecarls' regular steel armour, so the change is made with aesthetics in mind. The difference in quality isn't vast, however, so your followers won't be crippled by their new gear. 

As of version 1.03, the weapons your housecarls spawn with vary according to your level. After certain thresholds, which vary from housecarl to housecarl based on how easy they are to acquire, they will spawn with a weapon of higher quality than their standard steel. As an example, if you become thane of Whiterun at level 15+, the Jarl will commission a weapon from Eorlund Gray-Mane for the new thane's housecarl to use. Should you not be interested in these features, feel free to download v1.02.

Versions

1.03:
Replaces the housecarls' armours, adding the helmets to their inventories so they can be freely taken by the player. Housecarls spawn with random one-handed weapons of varying quality depending on the player's level. 
1.03a: Same as 1.03, but doesn't include helmets and gives the housecarls cosmetic headwear. 
1.03b: Same as 1.03, but the housecarls' leveled weapons can be either one-handed or two-handed. Doesn't affect Rayya and Valdimar, given their unique combat styles.

1.02: Replaces the housecarls' armours but doesn't include helmets, so as not to make them faceless. Rayya keeps her hood, as it's part of her character.
1.02a: Same as 1.02, but gives the housecarls fitting (in my opinion) headwear. Spare poor Gregor's bald head from the freezing cold of Dawnstar.
1.02b: Same as 1.02, but replaces the housecarls' standard weapons with random one-handed steel weapons (no daggers). Admittedly not a huge deal, but it will make your followers just a tiny bit more varied. One of Rayya's weapons is guaranteed to be a scimitar.

Installation

Standard fare, just drop the esp into your data folder, or use your mod manager of choice, making sure that it loads after its masters.
