Acquisition
- Bethesda.net - Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Download button
- Click DOWNLOAD FOR FREE, and run the executable
- Click Change Location and navigate to X:\Gaming\Bethesda.net Launcher
- Uncheck Add desktop shortcut
- Click Install
- Enter your information and click SIGN IN or CREATE ACCOUNT
- After signing in click the two arrows in the upper left-hand corner of the window
- Find Creation Kit: Skyrim
- Click INSTALL
- The location to install is X:\Gaming\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition
- Make sure both shortcut options are left unchecked
- Once again click INSTALL
- In the upper right-hand corner, click Game Options v
- Make sure Auto Update is Off
- Close Bethesda.net Launcher
Tweaks and Fixes
Tweaked Creation Kit INI - A custom ini for the Creation Kit
Instructions:
- Manually download the main file
- Open the CK Custom ini archive
- Open the CK Custom folder
- Drag and drop CreationkitCustom.ini to your Skyrim Special Edition directory
SSE Creation Kit Fixes - Bug fixes and quality of life improvements
Instructions:
- Manually Download the first main file
- Open the CK64Fixes Release 3.2 archive
- Drag and drop all four files to your Skyrim Special Edition directory
NB: you can install the FaceWrapper if you want, but it isn’t needed for the purpose of this guide. More information can always be found on the description and post pages of SSE Creation Kit Fixes Nexus page.
Unpacking Vanilla Scripts
- After relaunching MO2, the Creation Kit should be automatically listed in the executables drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the window.
- Select Creation Kit and click Run
- Click Yes on the window when asked to extract scripts
- Close the Creation Kit
Fixing Filepaths
- Open your Skyrim Special Edition\Data folder
- Rename the Source folder to Scripts
- Open the newly named Scripts
- Rename the folder inside to Source
- You should end up with Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Scripts\Source
- Back in MO2, right-click on overwrite and click clear overwrite
