About this mod

Fixes a CTD that may occur when encountering a Wraith of Sithis (from Mihail's Gravelords mod) while using EnaiSiaion's Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul mod. (Neither mod has an "error," just a potential conflict when both are in use.)

This patch fixes a CTD between Mihail's Gravelords (Wraith of Sithis) mod and EnaiSiaion's Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul mod.
Neither of these mods have an "error," there is just a potential conflict when both are in use, especially when part of a larger mod list.

UPDATE: Created an All-In-One version with a FOMOD that also supports the Skeletal Revenants and Bone Colossi & Gravelords compilations which include the same creature.

Follow me down the rabbit hole:
  • The Wraith of Sithis uses a Magic Effect (MGEF) called fxgravelord.
  • The fxgravelord effect calls the vanilla Skyrim script SprigganFXSCRIPT.
  • SprigganFXSCRIPT uses a vanilla spell called Command Daedra.
  • Command Daedra happens to be one of the spells modified by Odin.
  • One of Odin's modifications increases the spell's Magnitude from 20 to 30.
  • This increased Magnitude - for some reason - results in a CTD shortly after a Wraith of Sithis enters combat.

It took me an embarrassing number of hours of trial and error to narrow down the issue to this value, yet I still don't know why this crash occurs. I also have to state for the record that this was tested on a very large mod list, so there is every reason to believe that some third factor (not Odin or Gravelords) could be involved. More research would be required for that, but in the meantime, this patch prevents the CTD and leaves all mods fully functional.

Other magic overhauls (such as Mysticism) also make modifications to the Command Daedra spell. While I did NOT experience any CTDs in my testing with Mysticism's changes, I designed this patch to work with anything that may modify that spell in the future just in case there are issues.

This patch simply provides a COPY of the unmodified (vanilla) version of Command Daedra that Mihail's Gravelords are known to work with, and modifies all versions of the creature (summoned or otherwise) to use it.

The Wraith of Sithis creature is included in multiple mods, so this patch contains a FOMOD that detects which version you have and installs the proper patch:
