Why make this? (feel free to skip if you don't care)
When I decided to use the Adamant Smithing Addon in my current playthrough, I was sure I would miss the Skyrim tempering tier names and resent the purely mechanical "+X" on all my weapons and armor. So I came up with an expanded list of 10 tiers, adding 4 new tier names to the 6 from vanilla. As it turns out, I actually enjoy the old school RPG feel of the +1 through +10 tier names, and find them really convenient -- I can tell at a glance that +3 is better than +1, but it may take my brain a second to remember if Flawless if better than Exquisite. So I created two versions of my custom list, and figured I'd share them for anyone else who might want to use them.
What's it do?
There are two options:
- Replace the +1 through +10 tempering tier names with more vanilla-like "Immersive" names
- Add the "immersive" names to the +1 through +10 tempering tier names, for a mix of immersion and practicality
Improvement names are appended to the end of the weapon/armor name, inside parentheses, just like in vanilla/Adamant.
Immersive Tempering Improvement Tiers, aka Replacer version:
Fine
Exceptional
Superior
Masterful
Exquisite
Flawless
Wondrous
Epic
Legendary
Mythic
Practical and Immersive Tempering Improvement Tiers, aka Hybrid version:
+1 - Fine
+2 - Exceptional
+3 - Superior
+4 - Masterful
+5 - Exquisite
+6 - Flawless
+7 - Wondrous
+8 - Epic
+9 - Legendary
+10 - Mythic
If your load order allows you to improve weapons/armor beyond +10 (i.e. you are not running Apothecary and Thaumaturgy), you'll just get the default +11 from there on. I didn't feel like murdering a thesaurus to come up with another 10 additional distinctive names, especially when I will never see them in my own game.
