Changelogs
Version 1.3
added compatibility for Sidequests of Skyrim for real this time. The problem is that the quests from Sidequests of Skyrim will not complete if the crafting recipe doesn't have the exact ingredients. I added a filter so items from this mod will be excluded.
added an optional version that makes it so sharpening costs gold instead (I set it to 10 gold but you can easily change that)
Version 1.2
added 'Temper_Var_Weapon' to the list of EditorIds
Version 1.1
added compatibility for Sidequests of Skyrim
Version 1.0
initial release
This mod uses SkyPatcher to remove the ingot requirement for sharpening a weapon. I never understood what these ingots were actually for since you need to go to an actual grindstone to sharpen your weapon anyways.
Regarding balance: I added an optional file in the fomod, which makes it so sharpening costs gold instead. The idea is that you pay the owner of the grindstone for using it. I have set the amount of gold it costs to sharpen a weapon to 10, but you can easily change that by editing the last number in the ini.
Designed to be used alongside mods like Hammer and Whetstone - Portable Tempering, so you can just buy whetstones from vendors and not have to worry about also bringing a fitting ingot for "balance" purposes.
Compatibility
Thanks to SkyPatcher it should be compatible with every mod that uses a "vanilla-like" naming system for EditorIds of constructible Objects. This mod basically only checks if a Cobj's EditorId contains something like "TemperWeapon" and if so it clears out the ingredient items. TL;DR: compatible with everything.
