The game only stores a small number of quicksaves, so habitually using quicksave rather than manually making a save will often put you in the position of being unable to go back as far as you want to. And going through the menus to manually create a "hard" save is a bit tedious.
SSE Engine Fixes actually has the option to make quicksaves (such as when you press F5) automatically make hard saves instead of quicksaves so you get to keep all of them. However, this feature is disabled by default.
To enable it, you can manually edit its EngineFixes.toml file and change Line 13 to true. Or you can download this and ensure it loads after SSE Engine Fixes.
Frankly, I'm primarily making this for my future self so I can download a collection of mods and be ready to go rather than having to manually reconfigure everything. But I still hope it helps others.
