About this mod

A mod that adds the dungeon of Shadowfang Keep from World of Warcraft into Skyrim, as well as the adjacent village of Pyrewood. Contains enemies, bosses as well as unique weapons and armor. The mod is based on the Cataclysm revamp of the dungeon, though it also contains a lot of elements from the original as well.

Description

Deep within the forests of the Falkreath hold lies a decrepit old imperial keep, with a history mired in blood and ambition. Over the many decades it has had many different masters. It was once the home of a proud and prosperous Silverlaine family, then a lair of a mad Archmage and a sanctuary for his beastly entourage. Now a new force has taken root within the walls of the keep, one who's intentions are mystery. The nearby village of Pyrewood has been set ablaze and it's residents killed. Amidst this madness a coalition of hunters from a foreign land have setup camp near the village, they claim that the faction within the keep poses a grave threat to the city of Falkreath  and are offering armor and weaponry to anyone willing to set foot into the keep. Their story seems  like its worth investigating, especially for any prospecting mercenary or adventurer looking to lend a hand, plunder riches and uncover the dark secrets of the Shadowfang Keep.

The Dungeon

The dungeon itself isn't meant to be a 1 to 1 recreation of the original, rather its more of a unique take on the design of the original WOW dungeon. Enemies and rooms have been adjusted to offer a unique challenge.

The key to the keep is within the chest in the Hunter's Refuge location.

There is a big emphasis on constant movement and using the environment to evade enemies.

It is recommended to prepare well, to stock up on potions, to upgrade and enchant all your gear before entering the dungeon.

The dungeon is designed with mid-game characters in mind (from level 20 to level 30) though it will scale further than that.

It has been balanced and tested on the Adept difficulty.



The Enemies

The enemies within the keep all have above average health and unique abilities, but they all have special weaknesses that can be exploited to gain the upper hand.

If an enemy is giving you trouble try consolting the beastiary.



The Beastiary

The beastiary contains the information on the strengths and weaknesses of the enemies within the keep. It would be smart to consolt the beastiary before making preparations for the dungeon.

It can be found within the chest in the Hunter's Refuge location.

It comes in 2 different forms:

-Shadowfang Keep Beastiary (normal enemies)

-Dossier of key individuals within Shadowfang Keep (bosses)



The Wandering Werewolfs

Since the destruction of their home within Pyrewood village members of the Shadowfang Pack have taken to the wilds. As a result the areas surrounding Falkreath have become significantly more dangerous. Tread carefully at lower levels.



Boomsticks and Firearms

The mysterious hunter faction has brought a special invention from they're homeland. A set of unique battle-staffs, useful for weakening enemies from the distance while being constantly mobile.

They come in two variants:

-Boomsticks (more powerfull, but fire slower)

-Firearms (less powerfull, but fire quicker)

The Armor and Weapons

In order to combat the creatures lurking within Shadowfang Keep you will be provided unique armor and weaponry specialy designed for comfronting the things that go bump in the night.

Armor and weapons can be found or bought from the NPCs at Hunter's Refuge location.



Compatibility

The dungeon is located next to the knifepoint ridge camp and alters the surrounding areas, so it should be compatible with anything that doesn't alter that specific area of the map.



Installation

Extract the contents of the download file into the Data folder in your Skyrim directory.

To uninstall just remove the contents from the Data folder.



Additional Info

This mod was mainly an experiment. A smaller project with the idea of testing out different types of level and enemy design, as well as my first foray into creating unique looking armor and weapons.

If there is a demand for it i will make a separate mod for weapons and armor.

I'm planing on intergrating many of the features found in this mod, such the movement based level design, unique strengths and weaknesses of enemies and the beastiary into my Darkest Dungeon Mod which was released before this one.
