KOJAKS AMBIENT FLYING DRAGONS


This has been on my/our wants list for a while so I added some flying dragons that stay at high altitude. They fly overhead high enough, not to get involved with combat (probably) but are there, waiting, watching, circling. They fly high across the sky, then will orbit high above Dragon POI like Dragon Lairs and Dragon Burial sites. There are Dragons that fly alone, and others that are in formation. During development though, there was a big problem, the Dragon LODs faded out, but! Good news! A solution is now here, courtesy of many first borns :D



Features:

  • Fully animated Dragon LOD, so you can see their wings flapping in the distance (Requires DynDOLOD DLL NG Alpha 31 or later)
  • The same DynDOLOD tweak, enables animated Dragon LODs for all dragons
  • Dragons head to The Throat of The World once they have finished their patrols
  • MCM with toggles for each dragon (Alduin is disabled by default because lore)
  • Mod already includes No Dragon LOD tweak (Far Away Model Distance = 0)
Requirements and Installation:
This plugin requires SkyUI for the MCM, and DynDOLOD NG DLL to get the animated LODs working

  • Install this plugin, then you have to install and run DynDOLOD with DynDOLOD DLL NG Alpha 31 or later
  • Next, in game, in DynDOLOD SkyUI MCM NG setting for dragon distance, adjust it to the required value. Default is 10, I am currently using 128, though it needs further testing.

Uninstall:
  • Perform a clean uninstall for DynDOLOD, and at the same time, uninstall this plugin.

Compatibility:
  • OK with most dragon mods and overhauls, including dragon skeleton replacers, dragon texture replacers, dragon animation replacers etc
  • OK with Shouting Provokes Dragons (has no effect)

  • The developers at Beth who made these dragons, but got sad when they realised the dragons couldn't actually render correctly outside the loaded cells, so they asked Todd, who said (probably), "I've got an idea, a workaround, don't make Alduin fly off into the distance after Helgen Exit. Instead, make him double back on himself, then dissapear behind a mountain. Do something similar for the other dragons, make them render in and out of existence behind a mountain or something" - To those guys that made these dragons, and everyone else who wanted to see dragons far away in the distance circling foggy mountain tops (without bugs), credits to all, we did it, we finally bloody did it! :D
