The Whitefall Manor

A lore-friendly player home located outside Whiterun.

The Whitefall Manor is a big legendary player house located outside Whiterun (next to Pelagia's Farm). It is very similar to the Heathfire manors, except that you don't have to choose for the wings additions : everything is there, in a single house. There's also no building and furniture crafting. The manor can be purchased from the Jarl's steward and should be then furnished from your own steward.

I took a lot of attention to stay as close as the vanilla decoration style and arrangements (inspired by Hearthfire manors as well but also vanilla habitations in general) to make it the most lore-friendly as possible. All containers are safe and won't respawn.

FEATURES

Greenhouse

Outside the house, with 50 planters, storage, alchemy lab and displays for the insects in jars.
As an extra, exotic and rare flora can be grown inside :
- Nirnroot
- Crimson Nirnroot
- Gleamblossom
- Scathecraw
- Ash Creep Cluster
- Ash Spiky Grass
- Trama Root
- Yellow Mountain Flower

Library

With 26 bookshelves, you can store up to 1000 books. This is more than enough to store every single book available in the game (This also includes skill books, journals, notes, recipes, spell tomes...)
There is also display cases with activators to showcase the rarest books of the game, such as the Ancient Falmer Tomes, Black Books, Elder Scrolls, Mythic Dawn Commentaries, Oghma Infinium, and more (The kind of books that deserve to be displayed in a case rather than rotting in a chest).

Collections Room

With custom display activators for many of the collectible items : Dragon Claws, Priest Masks, Paragons, Azura's Star but also rare or unique/quest linked miscellaneous items, such as Arvak's Skull, Right Eye of the Falmer, Aretino Family Heirloom, the Initiate's Ewer, Runed Lexicon, and more. (A few souvenirs from the quests you've completed that deserve to be displayed somewhere rather than being sold or forgotten in a chest).
It also features 8 weapons racks, display cases and two mannequins for the Daedric Artifacts + 1 large and 2 small trophy bases.
IMPORTANT NOTE : When displayed, the Dragon Priest masks will loose their smithing upgrades (because the script does not work like a mannequin or a weapon rack). If you want to keep the upgrade, store them in a chest instead.

Armory

With 7 mannequins, 12 weapons rack, 5 weapons plaques and 8 display cases. Also includes smithing furniture (Tanning Rack, Armor Workbench, Anvil, Grindstone). Similar to the Hearthfire armory but with more racks and storage.

Kitchen

Many food and ingredients, storage and includes Hearthfire's oven and butter churn.

Main Hall and Back Hall

Spacious main rooms, with fireplace, dinning table, storage, etc. Also includes 3 large and 3 small trophy bases.

Master Bedroom and Children Bedroom

The house is compatible with the adoption system. Like any vanilla home, spouse and children can be moved in and they will behave just as they will do in a Hearthfire home. You'll get the Lover's Comfort - Father's/Mother's Love when sleeping as well.  Only two children beds are available, and I do not plan to add more.
In the Master Bedroom can be found a Mirror you can use to change your character's appearance (Limited race menu only : Race, name and gender cannot be changed, like the Face Sculptor from Dawnguard).
Also includes a small exterior porch with a beautiful view on Whiterun.

Employees Rooms and Steward Room

Nothing special, a room for the steward and two rooms with two beds : One will be used by the guard and the bard, the second remain free. Another mod could be used to move in two extra people. All beds are unowned though, so if you choose to not hire the bard and the guard, four beds are available for extra mod use.

SERVICES

- Steward :
More likely same as Hearthfire.
It can be any eligible follower. Once hired, he/she will live in the manor and can be asked to furnish rooms, buy supplies, improvements, services. Can be dismissed.

- Carriage
Same as Hearthfire.

- Bard (You can choose male or female)
Same as Hearthfire. The dialogue to dismiss the bard won't work, you'll need to ask your steward instead.

- Personnal guard :
You can choose between 3 class : Archer, Mage or Warrior. He will patrol around the house and can be used as a follower.
In combat, the archer will be more like Aela, the mage will be like Aranea and the warrior like Mjoll. Only one guard can be hired at a time. They are tagged essentials, so they cannot die. Can be dismissed.

How to use

Option 1 : Main file

1. Purchase the house from the Jarl's steward for 8,000 gold. (Can be purchased from the beginning of the game).
2. Bring an eligible follower (same conditions as Hearthfire) to the house and ask him to be your steward.
3. Ask your steward to buy furnishings, improvements, buy materials, hire a bard or a guard.
4. Talk to your spouse / children and ask them to move in the "tundra homestead".
5. Enjoy the house.

Option 2 : Optional file

With the optional file, the Manor will be already owned and fully furnished. Just install through a mod manager. The house is ready to use from the beginning of the game. You can use this optional file if you have trouble hiring a Steward or getting the dialogue to show up properly.
