About this mod

An alternative to the official CACO+Ordinator patch, untying CACO's perks from Witchmaster, Chymical Wedding and World Serpent, and moving some or all of their features in other perks. Also tries to expand on the "alchemical bombs" part of CACO by introducing a new endgame perk.

CACO Ordinatored - Alternate Patch

While the official patch for CACO and Ordinator works very well, being forced into the "stimulants" branch of the Alchemy tree to get access to CACO's advanced features was starting to bother me.

Why should my ability to make extracts be tied to my ability to proc 50 potion effects in one drink, when we already have 2 branches dedicated to "advanced alchemical procedures" ?
Why are Devastating bombs tied to my ability to inflict poison after being hit after shouting ?

Also elemental bombs are criminally underrated and deserve their own perk branch.

This patch aims to fix that, by splitting parts of Chymist and Catalyst into other perks where they make more sense, restoring the "1 branch = 1 sub-spec" feeling of Ordinator in the process. I also attempted to explain some of CACO's mechanics in perks where it mattered.

However, the consequences of said fixing made a lot of CACO's features accessible earlier than intended, Anatomist being the only exception.
If you think the changes detailed below ruin the balance of your modpack, feel free to use the official patch instead.



Differences with the official patch

- Bottomless Cup grants 1 additional dose of poison every 25 Alchemy levels, making poisons last 5 hits at 100 Alchemy, instead of 3.

- Anatomist, Chymist and Catalyst are dissociated from Witchmaster, Chymical Wedding and World Serpent.
-> Pure Mixtures inherits from Chymist ingredient extract creation and potion weight reduction.
-> Advanced Lab inherits from Chymist non-player made potion combination.
-> Alkahest inherits from Catalyst advanced wax creation.
-> Elemental Oil (now Explosive Disposition) enables "Powerful"-tier bomb creation.
-> The Alchemist's Cookbook enables "Devastating"-tier bomb creation.
-> Hagraven Knowledge, a new perk, is basically Anatomist. Requires 80 alchemy like Witchmaster, but is connected to Pure Mixtures instead.

- 2 new perks :
-> Hagraven Knowledge (80), explained above
-> Artificer Kit (90)
Replaces regular bomb recipes with more efficient ones : doubled crafting output, doubled common component costs - ingots/leather/alcohol.
Adds a power available once a day, granting 3 "Devastating"-tier bombs immediatly, for 500 gold. Power is wasted if you don't have enough gold.



Detailled perk changes

- CONJURATION -
Feed the Monster : Raw Hominid Flesh (CACO) from Human Flesh

- ALCHEMY -
Physician (20) : Merged CACO and Ordinator perks
You may choose an attribute : Health, Magicka or Stamina. Potions you mix that restore or fortify the chosen attribute are 50% stronger. Additionally, you can create poultices, tonics and salves, and your health regenerates 15% faster.

Advanced Lab (30) : Added a part of CACO's "Chymist" perk effect : potion distillery
You may upgrade one existing alchemy lab for 2500 gold : potions and poisons you mix at this advanced lab are 25% stronger. Sneak to disassemble. Additionally, you can now distill regular potions and poisons with a retort.

Experimenter -> Mithridatism (30) : Replaced by CACO's "Snakeblood" perk effect.
Consuming any ingredient gradually increases your ability to detect their effects and your poison resistance - up to 50%.

Bottomless Cup (40) : Added CACO's "Concentrated Poison" perk effect. +1 dose per 25 levels instead of 1 every ~33.33 level.
Poisons applied to weapons last for one additional hit per 25 levels of Alchemy. All poisons you mix weigh less.

Elemental Oil -> Explosive Disposition (40) : Ordinator's "Elemental Oil" + Mid-tier bomb access
You may choose an Elemental Oil power : at will, create a pool of oil that explodes when struck, inflicting damage equal to your Alchemy skill level. You are able to make "Powerful" elemental bombs with a retort.

Lab Skeever (50) : Added CACO's "Field Alchemist" perk effect.
After using any alchemy lab, beneficial potions drank within 20 seconds last 15 times longer and are 25% stronger. Field alchemy efficiency increased to 75% - from 50%.

Alkahest (50) : Added a part of CACO's "Catalyst" perk effect : poisonous waxes
Your poisons are highly corrosive, enabling you to ignore 40% of the armor rating of an affected target for their duration. You can melt waxes in a retort to make long-lasting poison coatings.

Green Thumb -> Naturalist (60) : Replaced by CACO's "Naturalist" perk effect.
Increased chance of harvesting additional ingredients from flora.

The Alchemist's Cookbook (60) : Ordinator's "The Alchemist's Cookbook" + Top-tier bomb access
You may choose an additional Elemental Oil power, including mind-affecting oils. You are able to make "Devastating" elemental bombs with a retort.

Pure Mixture (70) : Added a part of CACO's "Chymist" perk effect : extracts creation.
You are able to distill ingredients into extracts with a retort, increasing their potency. Potions and poisons you mix are purified of imperfections, and weigh less.

NEW PERKS : 
Hagraven Knowledge (80) : CACO's Anatomist perk
You are able to harvest blood and organs from dead humanoids, potent yet taboo ingredients for alchemy.

Artificer Kit (90) : Original perk
Unlocks more efficient grenade recipes. Grants the "Artificer Kit" power : once a day, spend 500 gold to create 3 "Devastating" bombs of a random element.
-> New bomb recipes replace the old ones, doubling their output but doubling base component costs (ingots, linen...) as well.
-> NOTE : Not having enough gold when using Artificer Kit will NOT reset the power.



Install information

Place that mod in the load order after Ordinator and CACO. You do not need the original patch.

If you are migrating from the original patch to this one, respec your Alchemy tree first ! Otherwise you will lose some perk points.
The reason for this is that I'm adding CACO features to Ordinator perks, where the official patch does the opposite, then moves perks to the correct spot in the perk tree. Both approaches have their merits and problems (guess who had to go through all of CACO retort recipes to change their perk conditions ?) but it does mean some perks are restored to their original (and maybe disabled) states.



Uninstall information

This patch should be safe to uninstall at any point in the game. Of course, the 2 new perks are lost on uninstall, so refund yourself the perk points.

2 scripts to remove :
- "P_OrdCACOAlt_ArtificerKit.pex", which is triggered when using the Artificer Kit power.
- "prkf_ord_alc30_advancedlab_p_0103d68b.pex", a script required to make the alchemy table work, made by ServantOfSin and currently in the official patch.
