Changelogs
Version 1.0
Initial release
This mod prevents the voice lines that talk about you being part of either the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood. Or technically it doesn't prevent them, but you have to be playing as a skeever for them to trigger. It affects these lines no matter who says them.
It was inspired by No Undetected Vampire and Werewolf Dialogue and goes perfectly together with it, and credit goes to Glomoro as I looked at that mod in order to know how to make this one. I highly recommend you get that mod as well. I also recommend Skill Comments Reconditioned to handle the comments that trigger based on your skills.
If you find any more lines that aren't covered by this mod (either for Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, or that you think would fit in the optional file) let me know what the line is and who said it.
There are two versions to choose from, as well as an optional file. All files are marked as ESL and wont take up a spot in your load order:
Total Version This will completely disable (a.k.a. add SkeeverRace requirement to) the following voice lines:
"The guards have been saying things about you... That you're the one that... Well... They say the Dark Brotherhood... Well. Never mind."
"Wait, I know you. You went into the Emperor's Tower, just before... before his decoy was murdered..."
"Hey! You're the one who killed Alain Dufont, up in Raldbthar. Oh yeah, word about that got around. Man was a piece of bandit trash, is what I hear."
"That old woman who runs the orphanage has been murdered. Say, didn't I see you coming out of there...?"
"I know who you are, assassin. I guess the rumors about your kind's "extinction" have been... exaggerated."
"It ain't true what they say about you and... and the Dark Brotherhood? Is it?"
"There are stories about you, and dark tidings in Dawnstar..."
"Try to hide it all you want. I know you're in the Thieves Guild... and so do the other guards."
"Psst. Hey, I know who you are. Hail Sithis."
"I know Thieves Guild armor when I see it. You're not fooling anyone."
"Hands to yourself, sneak thief."
"I find your hand in my pocket, I'm going to cut it off."
"I know your kind, always sneaking about."
"Go fiddling with any locks around here, we're going to have a real problem."
Realistic Version This will completely disable (a.k.a. add SkeeverRace requirement to) the following voice lines:
"The guards have been saying things about you... That you're the one that... Well... They say the Dark Brotherhood... Well. Never mind."
"Wait, I know you. You went into the Emperor's Tower, just before... before his decoy was murdered..."
"Hey! You're the one who killed Alain Dufont, up in Raldbthar. Oh yeah, word about that got around. Man was a piece of bandit trash, is what I hear."
"That old woman who runs the orphanage has been murdered. Say, didn't I see you coming out of there...?"
"It ain't true what they say about you and... and the Dark Brotherhood? Is it?"
"There are stories about you, and dark tidings in Dawnstar..."
And add the requirement to wear the Thieves Guild body armor to the following voice lines:
"Try to hide it all you want. I know you're in the Thieves Guild... and so do the other guards."
And add the requirement to wear the Dark Brotherhood body armor to the following voice lines:
"I know who you are, assassin. I guess the rumors about your kind's "extinction" have been... exaggerated."
"Psst. Hey, I know who you are. Hail Sithis."
Optional File This will completely disable (a.k.a. add SkeeverRace requirement to) some other voice files I felt didn't make much sense either, though they are not related to Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood:
"I know you had some part in Sinding's escape. Don't deny it..." (after Sinding escapes from Falkreath jail)
"From what I hear, you're the one gave the Thalmor a black eye. Sure know how to pick your enemies, don't you?" (after completing 'Missing In Action')
"You... you were talking to that murderous savage. And then he escaped. What are you hiding?" (after Sinding escapes from Falkreath jail)
"Ugh. That armor stinks of death. You been grave robbing?" (in reference to you wearing Ancient Nord Armor)
Compatibility Will conflict will anything that edits these voice lines, it's just a matter of load order and it wont break anything.
Master of Disguise SSE - Compatible, but if you are using that mods Guards vs Dark Brotherhood or Guards vs Thieves Guild settings the lines in the Realistic Version of my mod will never happen, since the guards will be busy attacking you on sight.
