Changelogs
Version 1.2.5
Corrected the spell tier for Transmute Ore, from expert to adept.
Version 1.2.4
Added support for Warmth and Hearthfire from the Survival Mode add-on.
Version 1.2.3
Added the now-reintroduced Windwalker and Windrunner spells, which I remembered to add while writing the changelogs for v1.2.2.
Version 1.2.2
Mirroring the latest Mysticism changes, Encumber and Burden Rune have been removed, and Weight of the World is now an AoE missile spell instead of a self-cenered AoE blast.
As burden spells now also affect attack speed, I've added the Weapons research element to Burden and Weight of the World.
Version 1.2.1
Corrected the school affiliation for Shocking Touch and Static Touch.
Version 1.2.0
Added support for the jump spells add-on (the two additional spells are simply skipped over if not installed).
Corrected the spell and tome IDs for Burden and Burden Rune.
Version 1.1.7
Changed the names of Circle- and Font of Vitality to Circle of Life and Font of Life, matching their name changes in the recent Mysticism update. This paricular piece of metadata is mostly cosmetic, so consider this update non-essential.
Version 1.1.6
Forwarded Mysticism's changes to the Equilibrium spell and its new master-tier counterpart, Symmetry.
Version 1.1.5
Corrected the scroll ID for Greater Fire Rune.
Corrected the spell ID for Hush.
Corrected the tome ID for un-importing Heal Undead (overwritten by Oblivion's Embrace).
Version 1.1.4
Removed data for Dismiss and Frozen Lance, as these spells are deprecated in Mysticism 2.
Moved the resistance and traps archetypes from treatment as techniques, to treatment as elements, mirroring their grouping in Spell Research itself.
Version 1.1.3
Fixed some issues with the resistance and traps archetypes being inconsistently treated as either an element or a technique. This will fix a few spells missing those archetypes.
Version 1.1.2
Changed the scroll ID for Conjure Dremora Lord to match that of Mysticism v2.0.6.
Corrected 29 instances where I'd omitted the file extension in "MysticismMagic.esp" in the JSON metadata, leading to broken links.
Version 1.1.1
Corrected complexity tier of Conjure Spectral Steed, expert -> adept.
Version 1.1.0
Updated the patch for Mysticism 2.
Version 1.0.3
Corrected the targeting metadata of Cinder Storm, from Self+AoE to Aimed+AoE.
Version 1.0.2
Removed the ability to study the Divine Intervention spells, which were removed with Mysticism v1.2.0 (these will be re-introduced as part of Pilgrim, for which I'll probably make a small Spell Research patch upon release).
Version 1.0.1
Corrected the spell tier for Ash Cloud, from adept to expert.
You now need to know the adept-level Banish Greater Daedra spell to write its corresponding scroll, instead of Mysticism's lower-tier spell, Banish Daedra.
Version 1.0.0
Initial upload.
This patch imports Mysticism's new spells into Spell Research, allowing them to be discovered, studied, and for tomes teaching them to be written once you've learned the spell. It also makes adjustments to a number of the vanilla spells, reflecting the changes from Mysticism. It uses JContainers to read all of this metadata from a JSON file instead of baking it all into the import script, which should significantly improve maintainability and human-readability.
This project originally began as an unofficial update in the comments section of Charlymbx's equivalent patch. Over the course of a number of community updates, it had become a buggy and unreadable mess, so I resolved to make a new version from scratch.
Another honorable mention here is Djarb's Spell Research JSON Patch framework. I've done something very similar to what that mod does, but had to make my own variant that supports un-importing and re-importing existing spells, since Mysticism is a broader magic overhaul as well as just a spell pack.
Complementary Mods
If you're looking for a mod to force you to actually research new spells instead of eating spell tomes and learning them instantly, consider Spell Research Synthesizer. This is a patching tool which eats the Papyrus source code from normal Spell Research patches, JSON files made for Djarb's framework, and the custom JSON format used by this mod to produce a master patch with the option to prevent tomes from teaching spells, instead listing their Spell Research archetypes.
As an alternative or complementary addition, there's also Immersive Spell Learning - DESTified. Spell tomes will continue to teach spells, but learning them from a tome will require several hours of study. You can use this alongside the Spell Research Synthesizer, and it'll effect any tomes which you've left out, such as if you've excluded novice-tier tomes.
