Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your version of the auto patcher. I was able to make a bunch of patches that worked.

I'll upload the ones that I made (once I clarify permissions) if anyone else is looking for some other patches.

Just uploaded a patch collection for Spell Research and various other mods. You can find it here. It has different patches than the ones here. Between all the different patch collections, hopefully everyone can get the mods they have patched.

I will be adding more patches to this throughout the week as I finish them. There are both import patches and altered tomes patches so that spell tomes tell you the archetypes rather than teach you the spell.

I've tested things pretty extensively so they should work, but I will do my best to keep up to date with bug fixes.

Hope it can help someone out!

I am not sure if it is unique to your version of the patcher or not, but I noticed that whenever I add Shadow as an element to a spell, it shows up as Shield in game (like when analyzing the spell via the journal).

I looked at the .psc file and noticed that _SR_ListSpellsElementShadow shows up twice. First assigned to shadow (game.GetFormFromFile(3475...) but then assigned to game.GetFormFromFile(3476....) immediately after. 3475 is for shadow, 3476 is for shield. I believe just changing the second formID to _SR_ListSpellsElementShield should solve the problem. I haven't tested it yet in game, but will update this post when I do.

I don't understand the innerworkings of the patcher well enough to diagnose what caused the error, but figured I'd let you know.

The altered tomes patcher doesn't have this issue though, and Shadow properly shows up in the spell tomes.

EDIT: I can confirm that the repetition of _SR_ListSpellsElementShadow was the issue. I changed it to _SR_ListSpellsElementShield (the one association with formID 3476 from spell research) and everything is looking good ingame. Again, don't know how to modify the patcher to fix this, but this is how you can edit the .psc file manually to fix it.

EDIT2: I found the problem in the patcher! It comes from the patchgeneratorpreamble.txt   -  just change the second occurrence of _SR_ListSpellsElementShadow to _SR_ListSpellsElementShield and I think that should fix things.

Should be fixed now, however I have moved the patcher to its own modpage, as it's going beyond the scope of this mod to keep updating it here.

Hi, thanks for this mod! Any chance for a version of the Spell Research - Patch Grimoire - Alternative Tomes.esp plugin with standalone master files?  So that someone who, for example, uses Project AHO but doesn't use any of the other mods will be able to use the alternative tomes patch?  Thanks again for this mod!

You can get the json source files and compile your own alternate Tomes esp based on which mods you want to use. I recommend using my alternate tomes mod but you can also use the other one present on nexus that isn't made by me

Hi. I don't quite understand, why Wildcat needs a patch. As far as I know it doesn't introduce now spells and or tomes, or am I mistaken? Can someone explain to me what else needs patching there?

You can look at the json files to check. Either way to quickly answer your question, it adds a couple of spells that have to do with injuries.

How curious. I couldn't find any information about those spell on the wildcat mod page or anywhere else. Thanks for clearing that up ;)

Edit: Okay, I looked through the Wildcat changelogs and apparently those spells (and a potion) where added but not implemented yet (and probably never will be since the last update is from 2017), and therefore don't show up as loot or in stores. You can only get them through console commands. But with Spell Research it should, with the help of your patch, also be possible to get them right?

The tome patch seems to require all of the possible patches as masters to the file,is that intentional? am i doing something wrong?

Yes, it overwrites each spell book record so it needs them as master.

This is great! Do you have any plans to create a patch for Mysticism/Odin?

And I saw your comment about the semi automatic patcher which I'll check out as well, how difficult would you say it would be to make the patches myself?

Actually it seems the mysticism patch already exists: Mysticism Magic - Spell Research Compatibility Patch at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) which is nice!

There already is a patch for Odin, it's been posted here a few days ago :)

In terms of difficulty, it's a matter of setting up the semi auto patcher, running it once on the mod with the extra data stuff on, and then modifying the config to match the type of language the mod author used. you'll still have to check at the end to make sure it got them right, but that should be a good starting point.

If you look up the semi automatic patcher, I posted a custom version in the comments there with an expanded config, you can use that to patch any other mods :) I might post it as a separate mod listing so it's easier to access...

Saying this because I personally don't use that mod.
