Permissions and credits
Mountain Shadow Manor

Player home located just outside Whiterun near the stables. Perfect as a home for both early and late game. Includes all crafting stations inside the main house. Designed so that you don't have to go through any load doors once inside the manor. Perfect for Survival Mode players that don't use fast travel.

Requirements

  • Map Marker and Fast Travel point
  • Location near Whiterun Carriage for Survival Mode players

  • Well outside the back door provides water horns (weak stamina regen)

Planned
  • More decorations in the main house, especially the children's bedroom.
  • Bathroom(?)
  • Maybe some work around the outside, especially in back. Not sure what I want to do yet but I think it could benefit from some additional work. Ideas are appreciated.

Compatibility
It will interfere with any mods that occupy the same cell spaces as Mountain Shadow Manor. I have noticed that I can't get spouses from the Interesting NPC's mod to recognize Mountain Shadow Manor as a viable home option. Vanilla spouses and children have no issues. If anyone may know why this is, please let me know.

  • Elysium Estate SSE: Both Elysium Estate and Mountain Shadow Manor share a cell. This can cause some minor ground texture bugs around Elysium Estate. Simply make sure Elysium loads AFTER Mountain Shadow Manor in your load order to fix the issue. Minor bug only so even if you don't/can't change the load order, both houses should still work fully.

Credits
Thanks to DarkFox127. Without his tutorial videos, this mod would have never been made.

Changelog
Version 1.11:
  • Renaming the files broke all the scripts in the mod so they needed to be remade.
  • Known Issue: Azura's Star will not place on the display. The Black Star works fine. The script will need to be revamped to fix this issue in the next version.

Version 1.1:
  • Fixed the save issue where the save files weren't saving under the character.

Version 1.01:
  • Fixed missing script to display Azura's Star & Black Star

Version 1.0:
  • Initial Release

FAQ
I NEED a bathroom!
  • This is in the works and hopefully will be updated in a near-future version.

How long have you been modding?
  • I've been playing around with the Creation Kit for a few years now but finally had some time to actually finish a mod. This is my first real mod ever so please be gentle :)

What was the inspiration for your mod?
  • I thought "Hey I want to make a Skyrim Mod!" and decided that a custom player home was the easiest and best way to learn how to do that. I certainly learned (and am still learning) but it was neither the easiest nor the best. Still I'm pretty happy with the results so far.

Are you going to post this mod on other sites?
  • Not at the moment. I want to see how it does here before deciding to upload it to other places.

Can I upload your mod to another site?
  • Sure, just make sure you point to this page as the original mod and let people know you aren't the author, just the port. However, I probably won't be able to support the mod on other platforms since I don't have a console. Any fixes would have to be given to me so I can implement them into the mod.

I don't want to buy the houses, can you put the keys out?
  • I'm personally not a fan of the "free" house function. The entire reason I added the ability to purchase the Servant's Quarters is to allow all players to use the house in some capacity right from the start. If you really want the keys you can just console command them.

  • Servant's Quarters: player.additem (XX)0c1fc9 1
