All screenshots are using appearance-changing mods. This mod does not make any changes to NPC appearance.
This is a simple mod that makes both Faralda and Nirya from the College of Winterhold into potential followers and marriage candidates. It also adjusts their stats somewhat to be more on par with other followers.
In order to work, this mod relies on the Cutting Room Floor mod, which restores the Research Thief quest that was cut from the original game. Depending on how you choose to resolve that quest, either Faralda or Nirya will consider you an ally. At that point, they become available as followers and as marriage candidates.
This mod also relies on ConsoleUtilSSE to make changes to how the NPC levels scale with the player; see the changes listed below for details.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GETTING NIRYA AS A FOLLOWER AND MARRIAGE CANDIDATE
- You must first install a mod that gives follower dialogue to the FemaleElfHaughty voice type, which is what Nirya uses. The dialogue to ask Nirya to follow you WILL NOT appear without it. The Relationship Dialogue Overhaul is a good option that will provide this, but any mod that provides it should work. Regardless of whether you install such a mod or not, following these instructions will still make her available as a Marriage option.
- Talk to Nirya and select the option You look like you could use some help.

- Spoiler:ShowDO NOT pick up Faralda's notes. Instead, speak to Faralda and tell her that Nirya wanted me to steal your notes.
A list of changes made by this mod follows.
Research Thief (Quest)
- No changes to the quest itself, but I have modified the scripts of each of the two dialog topics that can complete the quest. Spoiler:ShowIf you give Faralda's notes to Nirya, her relationship rank with you will be raised to Ally. If you choose instead to rat Nirya out to Faralda, then Faralda's relationship rank with you will be raised to Ally. Whichever one you become an ally with will now be available as a follower and for marriage.
Faralda (NPC)
- Once you reach Allied status with her, she will now be available as both a follower and a marriage candidate. This was done through the use of a hidden quest and will not conflict with any other mods that make changes to Faralda.
- The only other change made to Faralda is that her player level scaling has been changed from 15-50 in vanilla to 4-100 to match the changes to Nirya (see below for details). This change has been done through ConsoleUtilSSE and should not cause any conflicts with other mods. However, if you try to manually change her level in the console, you may find that it regularly gets reset to 4-100.
Nirya (NPC)
- Once you reach Allied status with her, she will be available as both a follower and a marriage candidate.
- In order to make her more viable as a follower, she has been given the following changes to make her roughly on-par with Marcurio:
- Her Aggression level has been raised to Aggressive
- Her Assistance level has been raised to Helps Allies
- Her Health has been increased by 50
- Her Magicka has been increased by 100
- She has been given the equivalent of the Rank 1 Augmented Flames perk
- She has been given the equivalent of the Rank 1 Magic Resistance perk
- She has been given the equivalent of the Rank 2 Recovery perk
- She has been given the equivalent of the Regeneration perk
- The above changes were all made through the use of spell effects from a hidden quest and will not conflict with any other mods that make changes to Nirya.
- She will now scale her level along with the player's level, starting from level 4 and up to level 100. This change has been done through ConsoleUtilSSE and should not cause any conflicts with other mods. However, if you try to manually change her level in the console, you may find that it regularly gets reset to 4-100.
