About this mod

A mod compilation of my tree in cities overhaul mods which features regional trees in the major cities while not degrading your performance.

All the mods here have this in common:

  • Trees of different sizes and types.
  • No added plants or shrubs,  no buildings, no clutter. No trees that are not regional (like aspen trees in Whiteurn or Pine trees in Markarth)
  • does not clogg up views. While a foresty city is wonderful to walk on, it also takes something from it.
  • all the tree placements follow composition rules -  trees are not used as a filler
  • Truly performance tree overhaul. This is very lightweight on any system, it takes nothing from your fps
  • Uses any installed tree mod and textures (tree mesh overhaul are all compatible, tree resize plugins are all compatible by default)
  • Does not interfere with navmeshes
  • esl flagged - does not count for load order limit
Recommended with happy tree mod because it fits the trunks and proportions given. It fits anything really.

Markarth Side - Flora and performance overhaul - fomod installer

Ever had a reason to revisit Markarth ? Is Markarth the only reason to have fast travel enabled ?
Markarth becomes a window for a pleasant respite. Without cluttering the place and without hurting performance. Alive, green and wild, in a way that is faithfull to vanilla with its short vegetation.


This mod changes the city of Markarth (inside the walls only and it does not change interiors)
  • replacement for all the dead trees within the city with a green counterpart, in the same place with the same size more or less; results depend on your tree replacement mod
  • hides most ugly corners between rock formations and dirt with ivy and moss within the city
  • adds clutches of trees, building a composition from and based on said replacements and base additions area - non intrusive changes
  • adds another wooden stair to the other side of the water in the mines for easier navigation in and out - because its always a certain dive
  • adds stairs leading up from the mines with an archway - connecting the pathways, which support a waterfall, instead of a mound of dirt
  • adds a big banner at the keeps entrance 
  • removes free wine bottles from vistas and some superfluous flora within the city. Game designers left tthem there to leave things to our imagination most likely

  • adds windows to buildings - vanilla has no windows, all stone - lit during 7pm to 5am - check the images

resort city - optional
  • adds points of interest to the city - waterfall, pools and hydrotherapy dwemer umbrella hot tubs
  • npcs bathing with schedules

I liked the general outlook from the mod Paradise City and this was partially inspired by it when doing the base replacement for the dead trees

Windhelm Trees and Mighty Talos Statues - fomod installer

Minimalistic addon with snowy trees in Windhelm and two massive Talos statues on each side of the bridge entrance (optional)

Options: trees and statues; just trees; just statues

  • This mod adds snowy pine trees to Windhelm only.
  • It also adds two giant Talos statues next to the bridge entrance. (optional) - or Sovngarde statues - statues do not need lod
  • NSFW version here 
Inspired by the oldrim mod Enhanced Mighty Talos mod, I decided to make it from scratch, because it has no permissions and its a very old mod and the mod author is not online anymore. It would be a shame to leave its idea in the depths of the modding pit.

Differences from the original:
  • added rock supports and the statues, the amount of rocks is different, the positions and the scales are different. The river is not blocked anymore by this composition and also the bridge arches can now be viewed.
  • Custom Talos statue mesh: uses the high poly nord hero version from Leanwolf´s mod.

Conflicts with Windhelm bridge tweaks. Other bridge overhauls should be fine.



Riften Trees

Can be used as an addon for city overhauls. By default it is compatible with Dawn of Skyrim. There is a JK Skyrim version.
It probably plays well even with other addons.

Riften trees can be a bit scarce. The city had a few spots empty, spots that would look better with some shade from the trees. (Every empty spot is not filled with a tree now.)
For that to happen the trees that were already there were scaled up in size, and this will not obstruct the view.
Less than double additional trees were added. With different sizes and placements for variety just enough to spring more life into the city. p.e. trees behind the buildings were barely non-existent or visible and now they play a part in the background view, while encircling the city mountainside without becoming overbearing.
