About this mod
this mod changes the surface clouds only(not the sky clouds!). this is the best offer i can present for subtle skyrim surface clouds including some options to try.

Important update July 2022 V 2.0 all weathers uploaded! tested with some different weather mods to get the best compromise and to see if it works.
all color and brightness parameters arranged to fit most weather types. no harsh dark or bright surface cloud experience should occur as long as the weather does not use it intentional. feedback appreciated!
the goal is a better balanced surface cloud color. no extreme white and reducing off colored surface clouds without enb dependency.
be aware that any weather mod introducing non vanilla cloud settings are not tested and can change colour and brightness of my surface clouds.
surface clouds changer mod changes the white bright surface clouds only(not the sky clouds!). choose between
1a thinner clouds white (main file)
1b all weather surface clouds thinner and reduced brightness (optional file)
Options you can try:
- darkened
- lesser clouds, darkened
- no surface couds at all.
this mod does about the same for sse as my offered fallout 4 mod does
tested with vanilla weather. some custom mod related weather settings may alter appearance severely.
dolomite weather, mythical ages weather and subtle sunglare mod (fully sse compatible) compliments this mod nicely (tested).
be aware that enb may change weather, sun and cloud appearance!
some landscape impressions done with some beautiful mods and my additional addons including this one
no sky clouds are changed.
helps many shader settings (enb, reshade) to get rid of white nasty overbrightened surface clouds.
helps also for better and darker night cloud setting.
chose between the three options. i used the best possible dx11 compatible texture compression method to guarantee banding free cloud appearance.
this texture replacer must be the last sky related mod in your load order. it works with default settings.
if you use cloud changing mods please double check if my mod works or if you have to change the folder or texture name manually.
the mod is not skyrim le compatible!
