Hurraaay everyone! The official port of Interesting NPCs was updated, and going by that changelog this mod and your support might've had something to do with it!
This page will stay up, as after checking the update out, a lot of my patches are still relevant, as is the information provided in my description.
Interesting NPCs is a very popular and expansive mod that adds a large amount of unique NPCs to Skyrim's world. However, some of these NPCs touch on sensitive subject that some players may not want to engage in. I didn't want these users to be deprived of the fun of Interesting NPCs so I've made some patches to remove offending NPCs.
I've cast a wide net with these patches, to hopefully accommodate everyone. To be honest, I don't plan to even use every patch here myself.
All patches are ESL-flagged ESPs.
If you have any suggestions for NPCs you find inappropriate or offensive, please leave them in the comments!
Compatibility
No conflicts with mods altering the NPCs (like giving them new outfits or faces). My patches don't actually touch the NPCs to remove them.
May conflict with mods that change the placement of each NPC, such as patches for city overhaul mods. Load these patches after.
As of 1.1 the full Griffith and Morrigan patch removes all of Interesting NPCs' additions to the Workers' House in Mixwater Mill, so patches for that location are obsolete.
Cut Content and Resulting Issues
Interesting NPCs is written to be interconnected, so many NPCs will reference other NPCs in dialogue. These references are usually vague, however, so they probably won't feel immersion breaking.
During the quest Brother and Keeper, Morrigan mentions a "draugr" helping her, likely referring to Moris the Draugr.
Sunken-Roots mentions a Dunmer in the quest The Raven of Anvil, which is probably Raynes.
Rumarin references Vigram frequently, as he lives with him whenever not travelling with you.
The full Griffith and Morrigan patch makes it impossible to do the quest Brother and Keeper.
The Raynes patch makes it impossible to do the quest The Law Always Wins, which is also a prerequisite for the quest Brother and Keeper.
Brother and Keeper is a prerequisite for three other quests: The Aldmeri Prisoner, A Debt of Blood, and As You Like It. As a result, either of the Raynes patch or the full Griffith and Morrigan patch will make these quests impossible to start and complete. As far as I know, this doesn't cause any issues, it just means you can't play that content.
If you're using the unofficial Legacy of the Dragonborn, you'll probably be unable to obtain several items for the museum that you get from these quests, if you're using either patch removing them.
The Griffith Dialogue Tweak doesn't remove any quests, and so won't cause these issues. Read the boxes below if you want more info on what the tweak actually does.
Sadrin appears in two quests, Azzarian's Gold and Idle Dreams, disabling him as an NPC only breaks the first quest, so it is also disabled by my patch.
Jeerah-Nur appears as a villain in the quest Fenced In, however disabling him as an NPC doesn't break the quest. If you also don't want the quest there's a patch in the optional files disabling it.
Patch Explanations
Details for why a patch was made can be found below. Please note, some of the explanations contain references to real world issues or NSFW matters. The explanation will first contain a few bullet points, then a long-form description going into detail (if relevant).
Anya (OPTION INCLUDED IN ezPG FOMOD INSTALLER)
Godrod the Hammer (DEPRECATED, USE OFFICIAL OPTIONAL FILE)
Griffith and Morrigan
In this situation, the player has the option to side with the Dark Brotherhood and kill Morrigan and Griffith, essentially siding with the pedophile.
The player can also say in dialogue with Griffith that they themselves are a pedophile. The Griffith Dialogue Tweak removes that line of dialogue.
Jeerah-Nur (DEPRECATED, USE OFFICIAL OPTIONAL FILE)
Jolene
Larkspur
Moris the Draugr (DEPRECATED, USE OFFICIAL OPTIONAL FILE)
Murakan (OPTION INCLUDED IN ezPG FOMOD INSTALLER)
Raynes
Rongeir and Shelur (DEPRECATED, NOW INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL SE PORT)
Sadrin
Vigram and Francis (DEPRECATED, NOW INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL SE PORT)
Dialogue Tweaks
These are just some small tweaks to some player dialogue lines.
Gilsi
I changed the line "I don't know. I like males." Into "I don't know. I prefer men." Kind of outside the scope of this mod, but it bothered me. Nobody says "males" in that context in real life.
Gorr
Griffith (DEPRECATED, NOW INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL SE PORT)
Moris the Draugr
Vigram
Besides the below change, I also fixed the subtitle for one of his generic lines, changing 'hear' to 'here'.
