DESCRIPTION

This is a quite simple ENB preset with no fancy custom shaders that overhaul every aspect of Skyrim's graphics. The ambient occlusion, depth of field and volumetric lighting are left vanilla, but all the Really Good Stuff from ENBSeries that you can't do natively within Creation Engine, is utilized - better shadows, better lighting, complex grass with collisions, particle lights, improved water, skin subsurface scattering, wet surfaces. I took particular care with color grading, trying to get a "vanilla+" result and not deviate from the original Skyrim/The Elder Scrolls aesthetics too much. I didn't aim for photorealism or really dramatic lighting - it's "Skyrim, but better".

I specifically made this preset to work with Cathedral Weathers, Enhanced Lighting for ENB and Relighting Skyrim (the latter really only affects number and placement of vanilla light sources, so if you're not using it, it shouldn't change things much).

Most importantly, I made it so that I could get acceptable performance on my old 4 GB VRAM Radeon RX570 GPU at FHD resolution and mostly 2k texture replacers with a crapton of high quality mesh replacers. I can stay at 40+ FPS in most outdoor regions, 50+ in the plains around Whiterun, and worst case scenarios are around 35 FPS at some specific locations looking at specific directions.

I also bundled a ReShade preset that adds CAS sharpening, fake global illumination, bloom and some cinematic flair - very, very subtle amount of film noise and vignette.

INSTALLATION

For the ENB preset:
  • Install ENB binaries to Skyrim SE root folder (you'll only need the d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll).
  • Drop the content of the Lean ENB folder in the archive into your Skyrim SE root folder.

For the ReShade preset designed to go with it:
  • Install ReShade.
  • Install Pirate Shaders and Glamarye Fast Effects by dropping the Shaders and Textures folders from their respective archives into wherever your ReShade shaders are installed (default is /Skyrim Special Edition/reshade-shaders).
  • Drop the Lean_Cinematic.ini from Lean Reshade folder in the archive to Skyrm's root folder.
