OVERVIEW

SKSE plugin which adds a fully featured and customisable poise system, sort of based on Elden Ring.

This mod is safe to uninstall at any time. Due to this being an SKSE plugin, all data is handled separate to the save game.

When an actor's poise health reaches 0, they stagger, with the stagger amount based on the power of the hit.The poise health then resets to full.

This system currently does not scale, staying mostly persistent throughout a whole playthrough. 

Poise damage is adjusted based on the vanilla damage difficulty multipliers.

Power attack stagger and Power Shot stagger are replaced with additional poise damage.


FEATURES



Use TrueHUD with Special Bars enabled in the MCM to get poise meters. (optional)

  • The max poise health is based off of the actor's mass + 1/2 of their armour. (configurable)
  • Damage resist effects increase and decrease poise health. This includes wards and flesh spells . (configurable)
  • Poise regenerates to full over 30 seconds. (configurable)
  • Melee poise damage is equal to half their weight + damage based on weapon type (configurable)
  • Bow poise damage is equal to half their weight + damage based on weapon type scaled with bow stagger bonus (configurable)
  • Unarmed and creature damage is equal to their physical damage. (configurable)
  • Magic effects can both damage and restore poise. (configurable)
  • Enemies deal 1.5x poise damage to the player. (configurable)

TWEAKING

This information is about settings in ChocolatePoise.json

Races
You can override a Mass value for a race with your own. This gets scaled with the fPoiseHealthAVMult multiplier (default of 20.0) for the real poise health value.

Magic Effects
You can adjust how the magnitude of a spell is handled.

Add an Actor Value if you want it to damage (or restore) poise health. "Damage" is when the original magic effect damaged an Actor Value, "Recovery" is when it restored the Actor Value instead.

Resist Values
An additional multiplier onto Actor Values. Requires an Actor Value used in the above section.

All valid Actor Value names can be found here but remember to remove the k!


REQUIREMENTS

Address Library for SKSE Plugins

powerofthree's Tweaks for EditorIDs. (ChocolatePoise.json)
TrueHUD for optional poise meters.

Precision is recommended and will become a soft requirement in the future.


COMPATIBILITY

  • Compatible with everything. 
  • The included ChocolatePoise-Perks.esp only revises vanilla perks for better integration. Disable when using perk mods.
