I left the source scripts within with as many notes on the code lines I provided and my changes on the already existing code if you want to take a look, tweak or whatever.
New disclaimer - you can still use it, copy it, tweak it, etc, the source is still open and commented to assist you. Just do please give credit from now on.
Overview
You got fabulous Chesko's Campfire and then you have the lackluster Camping, but nothing betwixt (or I don't know, I never checked another campfire mod), thus if you decide you don't like complex mechanics (or maybe your pc cannot bear Frostfall + Campfire stress) you let Campfire go for the sake of simplicity, but then Camping's oversimplicity leaves you wanting for a bit more vanillesque development.
At least that's how I felt, thus I decided to expand the functionality of CC Camping as loyal to its original vision as I could, dropping a bit of quality of life in it.
What does this mod do?
The main thing is that now you can craft Intermediate Camping Supplies and Advanced Camping Supplies to expand the utility of Camping. You can craft them on the Smithing Forge since the beggining of the game.
Basic Camping Supplies
-
Craft it with:
x4 Firewood
x3 Leather
Intermediate Camping Supplies.
-Deploys Basic Camping Supplies stuff plus a Tanning Rack, a Cooking Pot and a Smelting Pot over the fire so yo can tan leather, smelt ore and cook advanced meals. You can still use the campfire basic cooking workbench.
Craft it with:
x2 Firewood
x2 Leather
x5 Iron Ingot
x1 Basic Camping Supplies
Advanced Camping Supplies
-Deploys everything above plus an Alchemy Lab tabletop and an Enchanting Table tabletop.
Craft it with:
x4 Firewood
x3 Glass
x2 Moonstone
x2 Corundum Ingot
x1 Intermediate Camping Supplies
Storage.
Any camping supplies tier comes with 3 storage containers, a satchel, a crate and a sack. These containers are safe and won't respawn.
Version 1.1.0 Adds permanent storage, meaning that when you break your camp your items will still remain stored until you make another camp so you can access them. This however means that when you build camp somewhere else, with an already existing camps, your items will magically appear on the new camp.
Version 1.2.0 Nerfes the permanent storage, when you break camp all of your items will go to your inventory automatically. If you build a camp, with an already existing camp, any stored items will become lost forever on the previous camp. Use version 1.1.0 if you don't like this nerf.
May add both possibilities when I do MCM support.
Quality of Life
-The fade in and out transitions are sped up for quicker deployment.
-When you break your camp you will get the pertinent camping supplies item back.
-You can now camp in interiors such as dungeons and certain prohibited worldspaces like Alftland, Blackreach, etc. But you still can't set camp in cities or towns. Nothing prevents you from building camp inside houses. Well just don't, I guess.
-The tutorial is disabled from the beggining, so you won't get the tutorial prompts when starting a new game.
-MCM support adds toggle options to enable or disable above.
Things to note.
Although I tried to place the new furniture as compact as possible, be mindful of your surroundings if you don't want eye-sore object clipping with the surrounding stuff, or floating assets due to irregular floor.
The ability to fast travel remains unchanged for now.
Take note that, if you place a Camp somewhere, forget about ir and then build another one elsewhere, the first one becomes destroyed (vanilla behaviour) with no reimbursement.
Compatibility
This mod edits the following original scripts:
ccQDRSSE002_BuildCampEffectScript
ccqdrsse002_buildcampquestscript
ccQDRSSE002_ShelterScript
Any mod editing those is gonna cause load order troubles with this mod.
-Go to Bed + Go To Bed Camping Patch are compatible. The order is Go to bed -> GTB Camping Patch -> Camping Expansion
To do list:
1.-
2.-
3.-
4.- Include alchemist retort addon Alchemist Retort (compatibility currently not working too well, unless you use SKSE alchemist retort and install/uninstall it before breaking the advanced camp).
5.-
6.- Add no smelting pot variant for immersiveness.
7.- Expand the ability to have different shelters other than ugly lean-to.
