About this mod

Alduin is the strongest being you can fight in Skyrim, the final boss, and yet he's practically a joke. This mod aims to fix that, by making Alduin a truly challenging boss. Please read the description, as multiple versions are available.

Alduin is supposed to be the most powerful being you physically encounter in Skyrim. He's stronger than Miraak, far stronger than Arngeir, and unless the Ebony Warrior's secret identity is Akatosh or a Daedric Prince he should be stronger than him as well. In fact, legends suggest even Daedric Princes fear him. Yet in the vanilla game Alduin is weak, literally weaker than other dragons you can randomly encounter. This mod aims to fix that.

Other mods exist that boost Alduin's health and level, but this mod goes much further. With this mod, his fire breath, meteors, fire balls and physical attacks deal significantly more damage, his fire breath, fire balls and meteors ignore magic resistance and spell absorption, and he has an ability inspired by Hell's Ebony Warrior that inflicts damage back on attackers who hit him. Each of his shout attacks, including meteors, now have extra effects like nullifying health regeneration and inflicting lingering damage on health, stamina and magicka. Each of these effects stacks, which can lead to enormous damage over time. The stamina and magicka draining effects are also designed specifically to drain so much stamina and magicka that power attacks and spells would usually become impossible until the effect ends. With this, Alduin will genuinely be a threatening opponent even for high-level characters.

Be warned, the latest update makes him far more threatening than older versions, and those older versions are still available if you prefer the simpler vanilla+ approach rather than a trial by status-afflicting fire. The older versions don't nullify healing or do ongoing damage, and the meteors aren't powered up. If you use the newest update versions, I can personally recommend having tested it myself that you bring multiple healing potions for the battle, because natural healing and spells will likely be nullified for much of the battle.

Read this description, as multiple versions exist, and if you use the wrong one you will either find him no challenge or too much of one. The abilities described above are true of all versions, but the difference between the versions is how much health he has and how much damage he deals with his attacks, meaning that if you choose the wrong one, you'll either destroy him in one hit while he can't damage you at all, or find yourself unable to damage him at all while he downs you in one attack.

Vanilla Version: This version is intended to be threatening to a strong end-game character in vanilla Skyrim, who didn't use the restoration loop glitch. If you attempt it without at least 500 health and a highly improved weapon you will likely fail.

Ordinator or Equivalent Version: This version is intended to be threatening to characters with around 20,000 health, and similar damage. This Alduin will have  breath attacks which ignore resistance.

Restoration Loop or Equivalent Version: This version is intended for characters who made full use of the restoration loop glitch. If your character has hundreds of millions of health, does hundreds of millions of damage per hit, and has spell absorption and magic resistance at least at 100%, making them invincible to most foes, this is the version for them. Alduin will ignore those resistances, and deal massive amounts of damage. Be forewarned that this version of Alduin can kill a character with those kinds of stats.

All versions are just ESP files, all flagged as ESL so they won't take up a slot in your load order.

All of these versions turn the battle with Alduin into more of an end-game battle and are designed to be challenging but not too much so, but still be warned that this mod makes it far easier to die in the main questline, specifically in the final battle against Alduin. So for safety it's best to follow the standard rule of all Bethesda games: save often.
