Fixed issue with pre-update armor mesh that was causing crashes.
Merged the armor and perk fixes from aljo's tweaks.
Added a little surprise for male characters trying to equip a female-only armour.
Removed that stupid Navmesh Info edit that happens every time you save in the CK.
Even remembered to delete the useless .tga files this time.
Version 2.3
The catch-up feature is now optional, which can be toggled through dialogue.
Version 2.2
Fixed catch-up issue where it didn't account for Eris waiting.
Version 2.1
Eris' outfits have been split into multiple pieces, mainly for those who want to mix and match the hood with other things. Note that there will be clipping/missing verts when not wearing the full set as intended, since it's meant to be covered by other pieces.
By making her armour modular and not a single piece, this should hopefully reduce the "bugs" caused by conflicts with other mods that people have installed.
Updated preview meshes in the inventory and removed easter egg descriptions, since they were originally never meant to be playable/optional.
Armour is also no longer given on recruit, but available to use, enchant, upgrade, etc. in the knapsack behind the chair. Stats have been buffed to be more viable later on, with Heavy using the Ebony material.
The grey monk robes are no longer used, since people keep thinking it's a bug. Her robes are now the default outfit.
Added percentage chance and cooldown to Collide dialogue, reducing the repetition.
Added a fix for those encountering the freezing/sneaking after combat bug by disabling and then re-enabling her when using the Soul Link summon spell to reset her AI.
Fixed the glimpse sequence, making it no longer exclusive to the Bannered Mare. It now works wherever you've set her home location, which was added after release.
Added automatic catch-up while following for those who don't want to keep using her summon spell.
Misc. fixes.
I can't promise that this will play nice on existing saves, particularly the armour changes. Make a save before updating.
Version 2.0
New commentary and conversations across the game, from Roggvir's execution to getting access to the Orc strongholds.
Eris now supports various banter with all major followers: Brelyna, J'zargo, Aela the Huntress, Farkas, Vilkas, Cicero, Agmaer, Serana, Erik the Slayer, Jenassa, Marcurio, Lydia, Erandur, Eola, Mjoll the Lioness and Uthgerd the Unbroken.
Fixed dialogue option for setting Eris' home location when dismissed. It will appear within suitable cells.
Bad news is that the separate file for rolling in the changes for those using the AIO is borked and there's no way I'm doing it for every single variant manually. Apologies, but the only alternative is to merge on your end.
Modder's resource separating the armour pieces for both light and heavy sets is available within the meshes folder.
Here's a drinking game: take a shot every time Eris says "Indeed." or "I will reflect on this."
Version 1.15
Fixed issue with Eris not wearing torso armour.
Default outfit has been changed to hoodless robes.
Recruiting her now gives upgradeable versions of both light and heavy armour for her. They are enchanted, so require the magical smithing perk.
Her armour sets are NOT DESIGNED for players. Your hands will be missing in first person and it's female only.
Removed the dialogue option to change armour type.
Since the script handling all this is completely redundant now, shifted the fighting style feature across to dialogue options. New save is required.
Version 1.5
Fighting style fix actually works now and will persist on loading saves. Blame sleep deprivation.
Version 1.4
Added dialogue option to set Eris' home location when dismissed.
Fixed issue of style reverting to default on loading saves.
Version 1.3
Updated fighting style feature to prioritise choices better. Note that these are ultimately percentage chances and depends on what's in her inventory.
Removed 24hr cooldown on the skill training topic to prevent what seems to be an engine bug where it stopped appearing. Can be exploited.
Reduced chances on NoticeCorpse and ObserveCombat dialogue as well.
Fixed enchantment values for Eris' weapons.
Fixed missing hand texture path on armours.
Misc. fixes. Shoutout to the Nexus servers for not uploading the patch and then everything at once.
Version 1.2
Combined optional file and main into one.
Eris now equips robes to begin with, but it isn't forced. Vanilla gear as fallback outfit.
Reduced chances on Eris' combat and detection dialogue to be less talkative. Also increased hours to reset.
Fixed stage check on Dawnguard dialogue to accurately reflect choice.
Removed some meshes that didn't end up being used.
Version 1.1
Fixed a conversation that wasn't disappearing when complete.
Added a file that makes Eris' armour vanilla, allowing for other gear.
Version 1.0
Initial release. Ported from LE.
"It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it."
Eris is a blind and enigmatic Imperial, now in Skyrim and looking for where her path may lead next. Though unwilling to divulge much about what has brought her this far, she's willing to accompany adventurers that are worthy of her respect.
As a fully developed companion character, Eris is amoral or, to use D&D alignment, True Neutral. She is designed to work with all kinds of player archetypes and will never pass judgement on their actions, only posing questions for you to answer.
Regardless of where your adventures might take you, she is more than dependable and will stay at your side no matter what. While she does not have a traditional character arc per se, she's intended to be a mirror (or foil) to deepen your experience and reflect on events that are otherwise ignored by the game.
A trusty blade, if nothing else.
To find Eris, head to the second floor of The Bannered Mare in Whiterun. It's recommended to recruit her as soon as possible, but don't worry if you miss out on some things... there's always more to discover next playthrough.
Features
DIALOGUE GALORE 1300+ lines of fully-voiced, high quality dialogue. Dozens of conversations and commentary spanning all factions, major quests, both DLCs, locations and much more.
ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOUR Eris can change her fighting style on the fly, from prioritising ranged attacks to smashing skulls with two-handed weapons to good, ol' fashioned punching. She also has the chance to heal the player in combat, which can be toggled on/off at any time by talking with her.
CUSTOM GEAR Switch between her two unique outfits, either Light and Heavy Armour, and watch as Eris carves through your foes with her blade. An additional weapon is available to unlock down the line.
SPELL LEARNING Expand her arsenal of both offensive and defensive spells by giving her a wide range of tomes to use in battle. Eris has no level cap and will continue to grow alongside the player.
SKILL ADVANCEMENT Once a day, you can also spend some time with her and help train her skills, with everything from Armor to Destruction to Block. Shape Eris into the companion you want her to be and match your playstyle the best.
TANGIBLE REWARDS As your bond increases over your adventure and the two of you grow stronger, earn custom perks for your achievements across factions and more.
Installation
Note: SKSE is a soft requirement for the fighting style feature. Beyond that, she'll work just fine without it.
Drop it in your Data folder or install with a mod manager as usual. The SE in the title is not tied to game version, it also works with the AE update.
She was made with a custom framework, so NFF, AFT, UFO, etc. are not supported. Use them at your own risk.
