About this mod
An update to Serio's Cycle Hotkeys aimed at streamlining the process of setting up cycles without having to dig through menus.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
Description:
The original Serio's Cycle Hotkeys mod is incredibly handy, but setting up new hotkeys and cycles is an exercise in tedium. I got tired of slogging through menus to set up hotkeys on new characters, noticed that the original author, serio420, allowed pretty much free use of the mod's assets, and decided to streamline the process a bit.
Overview of QuickSet Features:
- Two different ways to quickly set up cycles from the Inventory and Magic menus using hotkeys instead of clicking through menus
- Adds a check for if the cursor is in a text field, so no more accidentally activating the mod while searching for something in the menus!
- Overwrite cycles - Just select an existing cycle during QuickSet and the new equipment will be assigned to that cycle
- Delete cycles - Delete a single cycle, multiple cycles, or all cycles on a hotkey with just a few keys strokes
- Append cycles - Activate the append option to automatically add new cycles to the end of the list
- Modify multiple cycles on a hotkey - Activate the continuous option to stay in cycle selection mode and keep adding/overwriting/deleting cycles on the current hotkey until cancelled
Requirements:
For the time being, this page will only cover the changes I've implemented, see the original page for details on how the rest of the mod works.
How to Use:
- Map the QuickSet Mode Hotkey
- Default is Left Control
- Map the QuickSet Cycle Hotkey
- Default is Left Shift
- Map the QuickSet Delete Hotkey
- Default is Delete
- Activate QuickSet selection mode
- A notification "QuickSet Mode: Hotkey" will pop up in the upper left corner.
- Select modifier options
- Hotkey Selection: N/A
- Cycle Selection: newly created cycle is automatically added to the end of the cycle list
- Continuous - hold down the QuickSet Mode key or QuickSet Delete key for at least 1 second and release the key
- Hotkey Selection: N/A
- Cycle Selection: cycle selection mode stays active until cancelled (Setter Key or close menu). The next cycle is automatically selected
- Delete - Press the QuickSet Delete key

- Cycle Selection: selecting a cycle will delete that particular cycle
- Select a hotkey
- Option 2: Press the QuickSet Cycle key until the desired hotkey is selected
- Once the desired hotkey is selected, press the QuickSet Mode key
- A notification "QuickSet Mode: Cycle" will display

Tips:
- Enable Append and Continuous modes to quickly add multiple cycles to the end of the list
- Enable Continuous mode to overwrite multiple cycles starting from a specific cycle
- Enable Delete and Continuous modes to quickly delete multiple cycles from a specific hotkey. Press the QuickSet Mode Key without selecting another cycle to delete consecutive cycles.
- If an invalid hotkey or cycle is selected, pressing the QuickSet Mode key clears the input
- If an invalid hotkey or cycle is selected, pressing the QuickSet Cycle key will reset the number back to 1
Notes:
- There is currently no way to assign the "Unequip" function using QuickSet. I don't use it, so it's not a priority. I may add it at some point if I can find a way that isn't awkward to use (and if people actually want it)
- All equipment in the left hand, right hand, and power slots are assigned to the cycle. The equipment must be unequipped if you don't want it added
Adding to existing save:
- Should be safe to add mid-save. It won't be worse than adding the original mod mid-save.
- Should be safe to update mid-save
Known Issues:
- Does not work when added to new save. Don't know when I'll get around to fixing it, so wait until after starting a new game to add
- The notifications get excessive when assigning hotkeys quickly. I'm looking into ways to alleviate the problem.
