Brewer - An Alcohol Brewing Mod

Brewer is a new crafting mechanic based around the many alcohol items in Skyrim which cannot currently be created, only bought. This mod provides a way for you to brew your very own beer, ale, wine and various other drinks. This also allows you to create your own copies of several rare drinks which can only be found in a few places in Skyrim. Brewer also adds new drink types and new drink effects to your game which are detailed more below. It is highly recommended to run this mod with ApothecaryFood and the included Apothecary Patch in order to make drinks more interesting to use but you can use it without it.

Brewing

Brewing crafting stations are distributed around the world, using the power of Base Object Swapper to replace many brewing kegs. This means you'll find brewing stations both in player homes and in various inns and shops which you can use freely. Brewing recipes require simple ingredients so most players should have access to the ability to brew drinks from the start.

All vanilla drinks have been given sensible and simple crafting recipes so you shouldn't need to run back and forth between several different crafting stations to get the job done.

Notes

  • Brewer's new drinks are added to leveled lists and should be available at inns and more rare drinks distributed as with the vanilla game rare alcoholic drinks

New Drinks

The following are new drink types introduced by brewer with their own unique recipes. With ApothecaryFood enabled, they have different effects than the rest of the apothecary alcohol items.

Spoiler:
Show
Apple Cider - 2 Green Apples
Nord Vodka - 2 Potatoes
Cyrodilic Vodka - 2 Potatoes, 1 Strawberry (In Bruma)
Valunstrad Vodka - 2 Potatoes, 1 Blue Mountain Flower
Nord Gin - 2 Juniper Berries, 1 Purple Mountain Flower
Cyrodilic Gin - 2 Juniper Berries, 1 Orange (In Bruma)
Wulfharth Gin - 2 Juniper Berries, 1 Yellow Mountain Flower

Unlockable Drinks

Some of the more rare drinks in Brewer are locked behind the completion of quests. The following describes those requirements. Also note that all of the drinks which are found in new lands such as Bruma require you to complete the quest to get to that land before you can craft the drinks. This means you must arrive at Wyrmstooth during the quest in order to unlock those drinks.

Spoiler:
Show
Ashfire Mead - Elmus Favor Quest
Dragon's Breath Mead - Dragon's Breath Mead (The Quest)
Black-Briar Reserve - I Done Got Thaned (Thane of Riften)
Jessica's Wine - Laid to Rest
Colovian Battlecry (Bruma) - Service Rewarded
Greenwood Mead (Bruma) - Water Run Dry
Shadowbanish Wine (Bruma) - Upon My Honor
Applewatch Cider (Bruma) - Cider Delivery

Compatibility

If you are using other mods which alter vanilla brewing keg models they may not be compatible. Additionally, if you are using any other Base Object Swapper mods which also touch brewing kegs they may need a patch. I've provided patches for several other content mods such as Beyond Skyrim - Bruma and Wyrmstooth to name a few.

Brewer does not alter the effects of any existing drinks or food and as such is compatible with most other drink mods such as Apothecary and Sunhelm.
