This mod is now obsolete. Please use SCROTE instead which includes this mod and many other fixes in a single package.

Description

Towards the end of the Shroud Hearth Barrow dungeon, you will come across a trap which locks the door in front and the one you just entered from and then wakes up 4 draugr to fight you. This is done by a script that closes and then swaps the existing doors with locked versions.

The problem with this is that there is a very small chance that this script can get stuck in a loop - if one of the doors gets opened again before the locked version of the door can get swapped in. The most common way for this to happen is if the door you entered from gets shut closed on a follower and they immediately open it back up again. Chances are, you will miss when that happened and now the script is stuck in your save file.

This mod is a slight tweak to the script that prevents that from happening by closing the door again if one of them happens to get opened before the script can continue. Side effect of this - you can now play useless box with the doors if you're fast enough. If you're one of the 5 people this script is stuck for, you can either return to the dungeon and close both doors again or you can download the optional file, which will do that for you.

How to check if the script is stuck?

Download ReSaver and open your save file in it. In the left pane expand the "Active Scripts" folder and check if you see a dunShroudHearthCloseAndDisableRefs folder there. If you do and this save file was not made when you are currently being ambushed by the trap, then the script is stuck.

Installation/Uninstallation

Install with your favourite mod manager. The main file is only the tweaked script. The optional file contains an ESP-FE to put things back in order.

Should be relatively safe to uninstall. If you're uninstalling the optional file, it might be a good idea to clean your save with ReSaver.

Compatibility and load order

Not compatible with anything that changes the same script.
Compatible with everything else (hopefully).

No need to concern yourself with load order, as there is no ESP with the main file. Load order for the optional file doesn't matter. However, due to the way the game loads its files, loose file mods like this one will always take priority over mods packed into BSA regardless where they load. If a mod happens to edit the same scripts and is packed into a BSA, this mod will overwrite it and potentially cause issues. Let me know of any such cases and I will make a patch to accommodate the relevant changes into this mod.
