About this mod
Terrain parallax normally disables the usual blending that the game does between two different textures. This plugin fixes that problem, making your landscape blend beautifully again!

Here is a list of mods that I am aware of which have built-in support this fix. With a supporting mod installed, you can simply install the plugin for Terrain Parallax Blending Fix and immediately start playing. The installation steps below are for mods that don't already support the fix. Expect this list to start small and grow over time!

- Make sure you have both the NON-Parallax, as well as the Parallax textures from your favorite landscape mod. Without both of these, you can't benefit from this fix, so ask your landscape mod's author to support both!
- Download and install this mod. Select the addons and patches that you need based on your load order. The installer tries to select all of the addons and patches that you need automatically, just make sure that the selections are correct.
NOTE: If your mod manager isn't MO2, you probably need to open the file Parallax TXST Fixes.ini and add its contents to your Skyrim.ini file manually. - OPTIONAL: Install my parallax mods for vanilla: Landscapes, Whiterun, Dungeons, Dragonborn, which are designed to take advantage of this fix. It's not required, but if your textures don't support the fix, these will allow you to see vanilla textures with parallax rather than pink/purple textures.
- Load the NON-Parallax version of your landscape textures first (let the Parallax version overwrite it).
- Open the textures folder for the Parallax version of your landscape mod.
- If any of the textures in the following list are in your mod, you will need to move them to another folder. Arrange the textures like this:

If you still have "spiky" landscape textures, it's worth investigating your other mods to see if any of them circumvent the changes from this mod. There is no good reason to ever do this. Here is a real example from a mod called Summerset Isles, which breaks the changes for dirt02, causing it to use the spiky texture where it should use parallax. You can easily find mods that alter LTEX or LAND records by using xEdit's Apply Filter feature, which can be found by right clicking any plugin and selecting Apply Filter. The edits from summersetisles.esp had to be removed to get this working.

If anyone wants to make a script to automate this simple task, I would appreciate it - feel free to share it in the comments.
After those short installation steps, you can play and forget this ever happened! Be mindful that this fix requires some landscape textures to be loaded twice - once with parallax and once without. In my experience, there is almost no performance impact in doing this, but YMMV.
