About this mod
A post-Dawnguard expansion, adding new quests that flesh out the ancient war between night and day. Inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade.

"Our eyes are yet to open..."
In my endless quest to shill for classic role-playing games and both the depth and breadth of
experiences they can offer, nothing has ever really captured the character dynamics
and factions as well as Vampire: The Masquerade.
Although having played far more D&D and various things derived from it, VTM is awesome
because of how it focuses on character and relationships, rather than getting bogged down
in stat tables and the nitty gritty of each class.
Bit of a tangent, but it's well worth a look if you find yourself getting overwhelmed
by Pathfinder and the like... think more True Blood, not Twilight.
Old Blood is an expansion-style quest mod that brings in the clans, characters and factional
depth of the tabletop into the world... hopefully elevating Dawnguard as a whole in the process.
Serana, Volkihar, the wider lore and original DLC are deeply woven into events.
Above all, I hope that it will make playing as a vampire more interesting
and provide actual, meaningful leadership of a faction.
To begin, you must defeat Harkon and return to the castle. Note that the Dawnguard must
also be destroyed, which is buried behind some awful radiant quests to unlock.
If it's not already clear, this is exclusive to the Volkihar path.
Finally, this was never intended to add mechanical changes, such as the Hunger system, Disciplines,
beastial failures and so forth of 5E... like my other mods, it's focused on the story side of things
with a strong focus on characters. I recommend using an overhaul alongside it.
Also, if anyone from White Wolf or Paradox happens to read this, I would perform diablerie
in a heartbeat, so to speak, to work on VTM. Or any RPG, really. Just saying!

Drop it in your Data folder or install with a mod manager as usual.

DISCLAIMER
Much like the source material, Old Blood does not shy away from dealing with the darker parts of human nature.
It contains references to mass murder, slavery, cannibalism, torture and general horror themes. Some characters
also use misogynistic language, given the underlying sexual imagery and cultural significance of vampires.
Please note, however, that this is not about being cartoonishly evil. The goal, more than anything else,
is to believably explore how these characters act as a functioning society, as they each grapple
with The Beast in their own way. This provides a sliding spectrum of those still in touch with
their humanity, as well as the feeling of being part of an actual clan.
If anything in the mod makes you uncomfortable, play at your discretion. It is not reflective of
my views and this is a work of fiction... I'm just here to tell stories.
