The Nords have a rich religious history. Unfortunately, Skyrim has largely discarded the Nordic totem gods as described in texts such as Varieties of Faith in the Empire and Michael Kirkbride’s The Nords’ Totemic Religion in favor of the Imperial pantheon. The Old Ways - Nordic Religion seeks to restore the Nordic pantheon in a way that balances both Skyrim’s and earlier games’ lore.
Features
Shrines for the Nordic totem gods: Alduin, Dibella, Jhunal, Kyne, Mara, Orkey, Shor, Stuhn, and Tsun. These mostly replace shrines in wilderness locations, with shrines in Imperial forts and most cities retaining the old Imperial shrines. Some new shrines have been added to locations where they make sense.
Overhauled shrine locations with new decorations.
New amulets to match the new shrines. These can be found at shrines or in leveled lists.
Compatibility
Mods that make changes to shrine locations might require a patch.
Religion mods like Pilgrim and Wintersun or perk mods like Adamant and Ordinator should be compatible, though the new shrines won't benefit from those mods' features.
Survival Mode's shrine offerings and Immersive Interactions' pray animations are supported with FormList Manipulator.
Some shrines in various mods have been replaced with Base Object Swapper. Supported mods include:
Fishing CC
The Great City of Winterhold
The Great Town of Ivarstead
The Great Town of Shor’s Stone
The Great Village of Kynesgrove
Shrine to Kyne
Legacy of the Dragonborn
Oakwood
