To release yourself from the Stone, you can get the Aetherial Crown. It's an item from Dawnguard DLC, which normally allows you to combine powers from 2 Standing Stones at the same time. With the mod it will still allow you to do that: the crown or its scripts are not changed at all here. In addition to combining effects it will also be the only thing allowing you to switch between the Standing Stones.



Inspired by Talentless Options. Unlike it, this mod does not entirely stop you from using skills your character doesn't have a natural inclination towards. Instead it forces you to utilize trainers and think outside the box.

Only ever install this mod on a new save! Meaning: enable it, then launch, click New.


Since version 0.5 the mod has a soft dependency on SPID for NPCs' effects. SPID ini is broken, so NOT use. The player's abilities are fine.

> There is also an optional plugin assigning you a random Stone after Unbound is finished, if you want to exclude choice as much as possible and avoid choosing your character's birth month yourself.
> There is an optional file for lower difficulty as well.

THE APPRENTICE

Compatibility:

The mod changes powerShrineScript (script in charge of getting a Standing Stone effect) and records directly related to Standing Stones. So other mods changing them will not be compatible.

The mod does not have any locational edits, so any changes to the exterior, decoration, lighting - compatible.

The mod does not change the Aetherial Crown, just mentions it as a property, so so any cosmetic or minor enchantment changes shouldn't be an issue at all.

Mods changing loading screens will need to be patched in xEdit. Simply combine the records. I have changed the text in loading screens regarding the Stones to fit the theme. If you see vanilla text on a screen with a Stone, you have a conflict.

Not compatible with my Simply One Standing Stone per Life, because this mod was built on it. Same with Simply Random Standing Stone - not compatible, I have a compatible version with the same feature here.

To avoid clashing with any survival mods, Lover's Stone inability to rest stays vanilla, no changes there.
