Changelogs
Version 1.0
Initial release.
Those using a very dark Soul Cairn retexture might have noticed some uncoordinated and unattractive elements on the small plateaus and around the fissures. This is due to the game reusing the mesh assets from the volcanic tundra mineral pools rather than ones unique to Soul Cairn specifically.
Because the game points to the same meshes for each location, an actual mod file is required to change the texture associations for Soul Cairn. This cannot be accomplished with a simple mesh replacer.
I designed this mod to be used with Skyland, which is the retex seen in the screenshots. However, since it's only pointing to different textures for the meshes to use, it will "work" with other retextures. Whether it looks good or not depends on that retexture.
If you are currently running with DynDOLOD, you will need to run it again. OR load this mod after DynDOLOD.esp. I did the latter because I didn't want to regenerate my LOD and noticed no issues with the overall LOD in Soul Cairn.
Optional Test Before Installation :)
Because this is reusing base game meshes from volcanic tundra, you can test to see how this mod looks with your retexture.
1. Copy the meshes from meshes\dlc01\soulcairn to some other location.
3. Paste those renamed files into meshes\landscape\volcanic .
4. Load into Soul Cairn and see how it looks. If you are satisfied, you may then enable the esp.
AGAIN, the esp is required because the same meshes are used. If you use the renamed meshes from the test then your mineral pools will look like they belong in the Soul Cairn.
Optional Black Grass
I have included an optional recolor for the default grass to make it black. My own grass mod doesn't appear to affect Soul Cairn, so that is all I see in my game.
