As of right now, I will NOT be working on this project much. Thank you to everybody who has helped me with this project and those who have downloaded it. The reason I will not be working on this anymore is due to just too busy of a work schedule. I have decided to remove the version compatible with SVE as I don't see myself updating it ever. Again, thank you all so much for the support over the years.

About This Mod
This mod will allow you to change a villagers Name, Possessive form (for accurate grammar), Gender, and now Birthdays! I first started making mods using OkaMoez's Villager Name Replacer mod and idea (with permission of course) to create and improve my own Villager Name Replacer that would add in a lot more missing content and function that the old mod was lacking. I wanted to go one step further and allow the use of changing the gender as well. I went through all the game files and created dynamic tokens for every single villager and their pronoun to try and make it reflect as accurate as possible when a name or gender was changed. Please note that this mod does NOT make any visual changes. Check out the information of the beta version below to find out more on that.
My goal
My main goal when I made this mod was to create more user customization of the existing villagers. This mod has a higher priority load than most so it can be paired with other existing mods and will not overwrite what changes they make if that other mod adds something such as dialogue. I want to encourage modders, writers, and artists to create their own mods such as portrait/sprite mods, dialogue mods, etc. and not have to be worried about being confined to something such as an existing villager's name or gender when paired with this mod. Dialogue can still be tweaked and added to make a new character even that more unique! If you plan on releasing your very own mod to change one or multiple villagers and wish to have this mod as an additional file already configured to download, you have my full permission, but please don't forget to leave credit to myself and this page. If you create a mod using this one to help and wish to have it linked on this page, reach out to me! I would be more than happy to have a section dedicated to your creations to show them off.
A small note to mod authors who want to use my mod as a base for character changes - If you would like to create your own character mod to replace sprites and gender, please use the original character spritesheet locations to create custom villager. I've made some changes in SV v1.5 where villager relationship now shows up accurately on the social tab (boyfriend/girlfriend and husband/wife). Do not change the locations of the sprites for the wedding and flower dance on each original spritesheet or it will break the events. I've set it up so during the events, it calls on the original NPCDispositions and then changes once the event is over. Since changing the Disposition was the only way I found would edit relationship status accurately, I had to find a way to revert temporarily so that there was no mistakes. There are extra images in the files now that contain each villagers wedding sprites. If you plan on creating a custom villager, you need to adjust those separate wedding sprites as well. Would like to give a shoutout to NoFogBob, someone who helped me create this fix and also someone I've been working on some future projects with. Installation
- Download and install Pathoschild's Content Patcher if you don't have it already
- Download Generic Mod Config Menu. I highly recommend this as it will make configuring the in game changes a whole lot easier
- Download Ultimate Villager Manager
- Unpack the contents of the archive to your .../StardewValley/Mods folder using a program such as WinRAR
*If you have the Generic Mod Config Menu downloaded, just click on the lower left cog button on the main menu screen, find Ultimate Villager Manager, and make changes there. Don't forget to save and close!
*If you do not have the Generic Mod Config Menu downloaded, using Penny as an example, find the config.json and your changes should look something like this (minus the spaces put in possessive, just wanted to make it easier to read):

Beta Test Build
On the files page, I have now released an Ultimate Complete Villager Manager SV Beta. I plan to keep adding more and more features to give the user the most control possible over how they would like to change the NPCs in game. There have been a few changes in this beta to test out. First, the Governor and Wizard name change and Grandpa has been removed from the configuration entirely. I did not really see much of a point on keeping them there. If you'd like to see them return, give me some feedback on this topic. Now, let's get in to the major change with the beta version!
Portrait variants! I've considered this for a very long time and did not want to just completely rip others work to have their files in my mod. The main reason for portrait variants is to give the user complete control over the certain portraits of characters they wish to change. I would like to keep this mod set up to where if a user wants to have the option for portrait changes, they must still download the mod from the original source. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that instead of installing the mod in to the mods folder, you will be moving the assets over to my mod. The only downside is since I am not much of a modder and rely heavily on Content Patcher for the making of this mod, not every single mod you download will be able to be put inside my mod for portrait change and compatibility. This is where I'd like to hear your feedback on some other great character change mods to make compatible. Or if you have experience making a content patcher mod, you can make the adjustments yourself, but this certainly won't be for the beginners.
I will try to explain how to get this set up as easy as I can but if you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to me here or on Discord (username at bottom of page). The first and only character changes I've made in the beta version so far is to be compatible with Adarin's Girl Mod, Female Bachelors - Beach, and Female Bachelors - Winter (definitely should drop and comment and endorse for support for these mod authors incredible work).
- Download Ultimate Complete Villager Manager Beta 1.0 (we'll call it UVMC for short) and install in your mods folder.
- Download each of these mods I listed above and unzip each file in a location you'll remember.
- Go in to the "Characters" folder inside of UVCM and you should see four folders.
- Open up the files in the three mods you've just downloaded and drag the .png files in to the identical folders of UVCM. If the picture is a portrait, drag ALL the files in to the "Portraits" folder. If the picture is a sprite, drag ALL the files in the "Sprites" folder. Do the same with the LooseSprite image. You will not have to mess with the "Wedding" folder one bit.
- Launch the game and make sure SMAPI is not throwing any errors to ensure everything was done correctly.
- If you don't already have it installed, install Generic Mod Config Menu as this will make set up a whole lot easier.
- You'll notice some new options to change an NPCs portrait/sprite in the config menu. There is an option for vanilla and Adarin. Right now, only 6 villagers have this option tied to them. They are Alex, Elliott, Harvey, Sam, Sebastian, and Shane. Each new portrait and spritesheet will change these bachelors in to bachelorettes. You have complete freedom of who you'd like these changes to apply to. If you're going to change the portraits, please remember to select the female gender as well.
- Load up your game and enjoy!
Please report any issues to me. If there are more mods you'd like to see compatible with this one, leave a suggestion. I'm on the hunt for a complete mod that will also change the bachelorettes in to bachelors. Leave any suggestions on more features other than portrait changes that you'd like to see and I'll see what I can do about implementation but please keep in mind that I still consider myself very amateur when it comes to modding this game so I'm very limited to what I can and can not do.
