So named because the original purpose of this preset was to make the floating island look far more realistic in the sunlight. I have since tweaked it further to incorporate the distinctive reds and greens of the kelp fields as well as some minor light scattering to further make the colors stand out better.
I am very pleased with how it turned out and so I want to share it with the rest of the Subnautica community.
As with any preset, you will have to install Reshade in order for this to work.
First download my mod's INI file into the same folder as your Subnautica.exe is found Then Download Reshade from https://reshade.me/ To install it, open the Reshade EXE and select wherever your Subnautica game is installed then choose Direct X 10/11/12 When it asks for a preset, browse to the one you downloaded and it should install all of the shaders it needs.
If by some off chance, this doesn't work, the shaders are from the Legacy, Reshade, and qUINT shader collections which you can also choose to download manually when installing Reshade.
- Note: Simu-Sun is not my own invented word, it was introduced in Fallout and I thought it apropos. Fallout is property of Bethesda, and even though I doubt a made up word in the game universe is trademarked, I just want to credit them regardless-
