A reshade preset intended to give Subautica a dark and forboding, as well as immersive look, whilst trying its best to remain faithful to the game's original style. Best pack a flash light!
I mean... it's kinda the only thing that'll allow the preset to work correctly...?

As the title and brief overview both suggest, this is a Reshade preset intended to give Subnautica more of a darker, more ominous look, all while going for immersion and keeping to the game's original shader style. Be sure to set the game's color grading setting to filmic for the best results.
To install this preset, you must first download the latest version of Reshade at https://reshade.me/ and follow the instructions to install it for Subnautica. Be sure to select the Direct3D 10+ option. Once Reshade is installed, simply unzip the dwonloaded preset to your Subnautica folder.
To use the preset, click the key that Reshade is binded to in order to open up the reshade menu. If this is your first time installing Reshade, there will be a tutorial that shows you how to use Reshade. Otherwise, simply click on the presets tab and look for "Reshade_Settings_Subnautica__Xenobathalassophobia.txt", then click on it. You should be set afterwards.
Note: Whenever the game starts up, Reshade must always load up first. When it does, your game may stutter and possibly experiance quirky shader effects. Do not worry, as this is normal for Reshade, especially for Subnautica. You need simply to only wait for Reshade to finish loading.
Any source of light recommended during the night or in darker regions of the Crater!
A little bit bit of trivia for this preset: the name "Xenobathalassophobia" is comprised of three different phobias: Xenophobia, bathophobia, and thalassophobia. The intended description of this new amalgomation of a word is as fallows: "An intense fear of the vast oceans and depths of extraterrestrial planets." Is it a real word? No. Are most phobias real words? Not really, no. Do I really care? Not at all. Does it get the point of the preset across? I sure as shmeckin hope so!
